What? We are obscure here on the east coast? What a bunch of baloney.

not obscure | 4/2/2008, 10:37 pm EST

these are not obscure cites that dylan is going to!

Just as a further note, I just found out NAS is coming to Halifax, May 16th. Keep your ear on the ground, RS, live music can keep the industry going.

Rolling Stones played Moncton then came back to Halifax the next year. Pearl Jam rocked Halifax and Saint John’s. The White Stripes played here last year. Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Perfect Circle, Ozzy, lots of big artists are coming to Halifax and the east coast of Canada. We are getting more artists because they need to tour to make money. Done are the days of Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal-only Canadian dates, things have changed and Rolling Stone should start looking into touring hot-spots.

The music industry has changed, Rolling Stone knows this as much as anyone. Artists are touring more then ever, to more places then ever.

Hmmm. Let’s see…Dylan, Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Keith Urban, Stevie Wonder, BB King, INXS, Supertramp, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Johnny Winter,Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Celine Dion, Doobie Brothers,etc..all these in the past 25-30 yrs to come to Halifax..no more obscure than any other place in North America. Do some research, please, before you
casually “label” places you’re not familiar with.

Bob has treated these obscure canadian cities well as he has performed here twice in the last ten years. i know you americans must think that any canadian city other than toronto montreal or vancouver must be obscure but im sure that Bob sees the beauty of our corner of the world. oh yeah and an obscure band called the rolling stones (maybe you’ve heard of them) were able to find moncton a few years ago. not to mention the sucess of the harvest jazz and blues festival that has attracted some world renowned blues acts.

“Bob Dylan announces four Canadian concerts in obscure cities”
What the hell do you mean by that? Sure, St. John’s, Newfoundland may not be a concert hotbed, but I’m sure as hell glad he’s coming here. If that wasn’t enough, Leonard Cohen is playing three sold out shows here in the SAME WEEK!
Now all we need is Ringo!
