• Carrie Underwood became the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry over the weekend after performing a cover of Randy Travis‘ “I Told You So.” She will be formally inducted on May 10th.
• Mariah Carey will be a guest judge on this week’s American Idol, according to Fox News. Carey will help critique the top eleven contestants’ second take on Beatles songs.
• DMX’s next album is due in August, while a gospel record will be out sometime after that, MTV reports. In a recent interview with XXL magazine, the rapper also seemed confused about the name of Senator Obama: “His name is Barack?” DMX reportedly said. “Is he serious?”
• UCLA Medical Center will fire several employees who looked at Britney Spears‘ confidential records while she was hospitalized there in January. Hospital staff were also fired in 2005 after snooping at Spears’ records when she gave birth to her first son.
