Rage and Wilco to Play Lollapalooza?

3/12/08, 1:04 pm EST

The latest Lollapalooza rumor has Rage Against the Machine and Wilco added to the bill alongside the already-rumored Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. C3 Presents, the Austin, TX-based company behind Lollapalooza, refuses to confirm or deny any rumors. The official line-up will not be announced until next month. If Rage and Wilco were added to the bill, Lollapalooza would immediately head to the front of the line as the definitive festival of the season.

Lollapalooza still has to catch up to Bonnaroo if it will be at the front of the festival season.

No thanks to bonnaroo….

Give me lollapalooza with nightlife nearby after the days shows and plenty of shade…

With NIN, Radiohead, and RATM there is no way that any U.S. fest can come close to LOLLA this year. WELL at least in terms of headliners.

“Plenty of shade”? You’ve never been to Lollapalooza at Grant Park, have you?

Lollapalooza has shade? That’s it I’m there. Don’t care who’s playing just as long as there’s shade.

David | 3/12/2008, 4:51 pm EST

yeah its got shade and a nice cool constant breeze

Anonymous | 3/12/2008, 5:55 pm EST

I watched Flaming Lips in 06 at lollapalooza at the far end of the park from near the top of a tree with a breeze coming in/going out over the lake- amazing! Probably my best concert experience

karma | 3/12/2008, 10:32 pm EST

Shade? at lolla? you obviously were not there last year. it was hot as fuck the whole weekend…and no shade.

c5 | 3/13/2008, 7:46 am EST

Karma wasn’t looking hard enough. There was plenty of shade. Bonaroo is gonna be idiot fest with Metallica showing up.

Coachella still wins with Aphex Twin, Portishead, Kraftwerk, Roger Waters, Verve, Fatboy Slim and others that will not be at every other festival.

estoner | 3/13/2008, 4:37 pm EST

Rage and NIN, still cranky after all these years.

Jorge | 3/13/2008, 6:41 pm EST

Perry Farrel is our last chance to continue the alternative tradition in what music festivals are about! Bonnaroo is good, Langerado was nice, Sasquatch! will be awsome, Coachella will be jut blah and Lolla will be defintely the best one in the US!
I’m from Mexico by the way!

There is definitely no shade at Palooza. It’s sweltering in the sun. So if you don’t like heat, don’t go. You cannot escape it here.

levineb | 3/15/2008, 6:31 pm EST

If Rage, Radiohead and NIN play, this is the best festival of the year. No one can really ask for much more than that. I just hope that these bands get long enough set times.

v sanch | 3/15/2008, 7:10 pm EST

I was at Lolla last year, for the whole weekend, and I have to say that if you want to watch the kidz stage, there is plenty of shade, but if you are checking out the main performers, prepare to roast.

i was looking t the lollapalooza wikipedia, and it said hannah montanna is also rumored to HEADLINE. hopefully wikipedia is wrong, because that would absolutely ruin lollapalooza for me.

Anonymous | 3/16/2008, 2:55 pm EST

Dude, if Hannah Montana is there. I will def. be there. Her live show is amazing.

RATM fan | 3/17/2008, 3:31 pm EST
