• R.E.M. will stream their new album Accelerate in its entirety via “social music discovery service” iLike, which has a partnership with Facebook. The “Worldwide Listening Party” will go down March 24th, a week before the album is released to stores.
• Rapper the Game has been released from jail after serving just eight days of his sixty-day sentence for pleading guilty to felony charges of possessing a firearm in a school zone.
• RS cover star (and presidential hopeful) Barack Obama will reportedly appear in some capacity on Q-Tip’s new album The Renaissance. “I’ve got Norah Jones on there, but Barack is the big one. You’ll see what happens,” the rapper said.
• Commenting on reports earlier today that the Beatles catalog going on iTunes was imminent, Apple dismissed the claims as “unsubstantial speculation.”
