Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails Expected to Headline Lollapalooza

3/7/08, 2:16 pm EST

Radiohead
and Nine Inch Nails are set to headline this year’s Lollapalooza, according to the Chicago Tribune. Although the festival’s lineup won’t be announced for several more weeks, “industry sources” state that both bands have been booked for the fourth annual Chicago fest, to be held August 1-3 in the city’s Grant Park. The Lolla gig would add to Radiohead’s 2008 festival resume, having already confirmed headlining slots at New York’s All Points West and San Francisco’s Outside Lands.

Are they crazy. Trying to have a festival this summer without Jack Johnson.

heaven in chicago | 3/7/2008, 7:47 pm EST

Radiohead and NIN?

I am jacks burning desire.

HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS | 3/8/2008, 12:06 am EST

That would be truly awesome

mcache | 3/8/2008, 8:49 pm EST

Sweet – does that mean Living Color and Jane’s Addiction will be on the bill also?

jjndr4g | 3/9/2008, 1:57 am EST

Artists like Jack Johnson and DMB are for girls. Seriously “Hey Now” stay at home and watch My Little Pony with your little sister if you don’t like it. Lollapalooza is for real rock-n-roll, not some soft-ass pop rock Cheryl Crow wannabe.

NIN? Headlining? AWESOME!!!

Radiohead? NO!!!!!!!

…although I was really hoping for the Stone Temple Pilots reunion to headline or at least be featured on the Lollapalooza lineup.

Go Radiohead!! | 3/9/2008, 10:53 am EST

I’m so glad Radiohead is headlining. and NIN is also awesome. whoever says radiohead is bad should die.

Radiohead is bad | 3/9/2008, 6:27 pm EST

Radiohead is anti-music, it’s just incoherent noise.

hello | 3/9/2008, 8:39 pm EST

Radiohead is arguably the band of our time. Anyone who doesn’t respect them and their brilliant music doesn’t respect music in general. Hell yea for radiohead headlining lolla, although it will be tough to be performances by Muse and Daft Punk last summer.

Kelly | 3/10/2008, 2:02 pm EST

Holy fuck, I would kill twenty world leaders to get there if NIN is headlining.

Black Eyed Angel | 3/10/2008, 5:08 pm EST

Radiohead is by far one of the most progressive, socially-conscious, and anti-apathetic bands of our time. They exemplify the synergy of music and experience (mental, physical, social, and spiritual). I am stoked to see them in the States again.

Vicky | 3/10/2008, 5:13 pm EST

So it’s pay what you want for tickets, then?

Drive from StL | 3/10/2008, 6:33 pm EST

Besides Radiohead and NIN as the headliners, there are a lot of other rumors flying around, including…

MGMT
Flogging Molly
Bloc Party

BobGroskie | 3/10/2008, 7:58 pm EST

It’s as if I put the show together myself…I’m still in shock!

Kid M | 3/10/2008, 8:02 pm EST

Radiohead is a fantastic band! How many genres have they tried and how many different instruments and effects have they used? Yea, they’re experimental and it works. Artists in the true sense.

Jonny Wadd | 3/10/2008, 8:47 pm EST

Hmm, boring whiney college boy crap for nerds (Radiohead) and whiny emo sad music (NIN) for the same crowd. Sob sisters rejoice. Why not some Supersuckers or something that really rocks instead of this posey crap?

Jack Johnson is for BROS | 3/10/2008, 9:25 pm EST

Jack Johnson and DMB are NOT FOR GIRLS. I am a girl and I want ROCK N ROLL! They are for bros.

far | 3/10/2008, 10:31 pm EST

Matty | 3/11/2008, 6:03 am EST

No Banshees, just Siouxsie with her brilliant solo album THEN that would be a line-up!

LM | 3/11/2008, 12:02 pm EST

Radiohead: Albums are good background music…..that’s about it.

Those who think radiohead is the paradigm of what music is dig excessively masturbatory waking. It’s not for everyone though……I think writing a really good, catchy 3-4 minute pop song is infinitely harder.

elizabeth | 3/11/2008, 1:31 pm EST

If you have a problem with radiohead or NIN you have no taste in music period!

ikgilci | 3/12/2008, 12:08 am EST

stp? aic? the pumpkins? that would be sweet. It would bring back the real magic of lollapalooza and I would actually want to go this year instead of a crappy lineup involving the killers and jack johnson and all of that stupid shit that people pretend to like because it’s new and there is nothing else these days.

Melvin VanNerdstrom | 3/12/2008, 5:09 am EST

I love concerts!!!

Kord | 3/12/2008, 5:16 pm EST

NIN / Radiohead / Rage would be sick, I would travel from Wa for that!

Waxing Nostaglic | 3/13/2008, 5:14 pm EST

nos·tal·gia[no-stal-juh, -jee-uh, nuh-] –noun 1. a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one’s life, to one’s home or homeland, or to one’s family and friends; a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time: a nostalgia for his college days.
2. something that elicits or displays nostalgia.

The kids of today should defend themselves against the ’90s.

haha! | 3/20/2008, 2:11 pm EST

Radiohead is great!

They are not for everybody.

If you don’t like them, thats ok too.

Cheers!

Im there | 3/27/2008, 2:19 pm EST

nine inch nails is the shit yo!

Silent O | 4/4/2008, 9:59 pm EST

A critic once called Radiohead “The Only Band That Matters”. He was right. They are the future of music. They also jam something wicked. NIN was great, but the last two albums weren’t :(

Prophet | 4/8/2008, 11:14 pm EST

Tool would be great too.

big t | 4/9/2008, 11:44 pm EST

those bands suck nuts they should do some a7x, and b.f.m.v

Stop It | 4/19/2008, 1:37 pm EST

Are you kidding. NIN and Radiohead headlining. Would rather pluck out toenails and use them as contact lenses. This line-up is nothing like the past palooza’s. Absolute crappola!
