frenchie davis would have faded into oblivion if not for the scandal. it was the best thing to ever happen to keep her in the limelite.

Frenchie has a wonderful voice and great personality so it was a shame that we did not get to see her talents showcased on American Idol. We all make mistakes, bad choices or feel trapped by our circumsances. I think a little patience with our young people would go a long way.

I’d like to go on that show as I contestent. And act bat shit nuts, sing the wrong tune in a screeching vulture-like tone.

This show is tyring to find “Idols” people are youth can look up to, he does not fit that description anymore. Haveing siad that though, I woudl would still be okay with staying on, had they not kicked off Frenchie for something very similar. Weigth has nothing to do with it. They didn’t kick her off for being fat, they kicked her off because of the morality clause

When Frenchie was on the show, Idol was in its second season and was not the ratings juggernaut it is today. Of course they would boot a contestant for nude photos at that time - they were trying to establish themselves as a family show at a time when they were the only show of its kind. The viewing audience has since proven that it will tune in regardless of the dreck, drivel or scandal and will watch practically any kind of reality/contest themed television show. That’s why it’s a non-issue now, but it wasn’t in Frenchie’s day. I hated seeing Frenchie leave, but such was the atmosphere during the time she was a contestant.

I completely agree with Confused..If people want to know why we consider it a racial issue it’s because obviously IT IS. When people are able to recognize it then we can solve it and move on but so many people want to turn a blind eye to it and the racism will continue.

Oh thank goodness David Hernandez will not be kicked off the show. I was losing so much sleep over this and not able to concentrate on my daily routine because I had this on mind for so long. Thank you RS for keeping me well informed about this great show because it really makes a difference in my life.

Okay, let’s see if I understand this: If you’re a caucasian (Barba) whose semi-nude photos show up on the Web, that’s okay with “Idol.” And if you’re a caucasian (Latino?) performing nude lap dances at a gay strip club–that’s okay with “Idol.” But if you’re an African-American whose topless photos show up on a porn site, that’s an insurmountable scandal and you have to be booted from the show. The only thing I don’t understand is why Frenchie Davis hasn’t sued over this obvious disparate treatment. The verdict should be a no-brainer.
