Every week Poison frontman Bret Michaels searches for a worthy life partner on Rock of Love 2, while Rock Daily searches for ways to reference “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” in our Rock Reality Show Recaps. Here’s our take on episode seven:
Sixty Minutes of Rockin’ Reality in One Sentence: A pair of older ladies in spandex and animal print who have been performing for the troops since 1956 coach the girls for a U.S.O. talent show (the “talent” ranges from Daisy forgetting the words to the national anthem to a tap dance routine to straight-up stripping to Jessica and Megan’s winning hula hoop bit).
Did Every Rose Have Its Thorn?: Perhaps inspired by last week’s SNL parody, for a few fleeting moments the unmistakable strum of Michaels’ favorite song actually did make this episode. As did some new Bret Michaels song with the poignant lyrics “Hello, goodbye, she wants to stay, she wants to fly.”
The Most Ridiculous Part: Michaels hosts a post-performance dinner party and introduces this topic: “Who do you think is here for the right reasons, and who’s here for the wrong reasons?” He then goes around the table begging for dirt. When Amber finally sells out her roommate, shady Kristy Jo, the table erupts in a cat fight and Michaels stalks off in disgust.
The Rockin’ Finish: On his date with the challenge winners, Bret learns Inna was rude to one of his U.S.O. ladies, so he sends his Ukrainian Love Tank home.
