
- Van Halen have canceled a handful of recent dates, and now TMZ claims the band’s entire tour — scheduled to run until April 19th — has been called off due to issues with Eddie Van Halen. TMZ cites sources and recent live footage. The band has yet to comment.
- Canadian guitarist Jeff Healey died yesterday at age forty-one, two months shy of releasing his first rock album in eight years. Healey picked up the guitar after being blinded at a young age, and became known for playing his instrument flat on his lap. He was diagnosed with cancer last year and underwent several surgeries.
- Under a recently proposed five-tier price plan, Wal-Mart could further reduce its CD prices to start at $5, with new releases going for $12. The plan would require labels to cover more of the cost. No discussions between the labels and the retailer have taken place.
- A teenager in Georgia murdered his mother and two sisters on Friday, one of whom was Juvenile’s four-year-old daughter. The rapper’s manager told the AP, “It really shocked and devastated him to the point where I’ve never seen him before.”
