Paul McCartney Album “Should Be Ready By the Summer,” Morello Record Also Due

2/25/08, 11:52 am EST

Just seven months after the release of Memory Almost Full, Sir Paul McCartney is already brewing up a new album. According to his publicist, “Paul started recording last week, but he has been writing for a while. It should be ready by the summer.” McCartney is reportedly working with producer Youth, a founding member of the band Killing Joke and the producer of albums such as the Verve’s Urban Hymns and, in some capacity, Guns N’ Roses‘ long-delayed Chinese Democracy.

Not to be outdone by McCartney’s prolificacy is Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who released his first solo album as the Nightwatchman in April 2007. Despite touring as both a member of the reunited Rage and as a solo entity, a second solo album is already near completion, with the working title of The Fabled City in place. While no release date is set, Morello expects the album out later this year.

It’s no wonder that McCartney is already working on a new album. With all those millions going to Heather Mills, he wants to make some of that cash back. And what better way than to put out a new album.

Wow! Another McCartney album. I can’t wait. The man’s on fire. Somebody better cool him off.

Youth is of course Macca’s other half for his Fireman projects…I wonder if this will be under the Fireman banner or a solo album proper? Either way, great news!

Ta Ta Toothy, do you really think that Macca has to release new albums to make money?
he could easily stay home and gather royalty checks.

It’s painfully obvious that the wrong Beatle was assasinated!

You know what they say…When your world is knee deep in BS and feeling traumatized about how your life’s been going, you bury yourself in your work. Keeping busy sedates the mind and soul.

It is time to hands up for all the musicians for such of working responsibilities. Another little musical revolution( like “Press to Play, maybe).Paul McCartney like it very much!

Yergairs | 2/26/2008, 6:39 am EST

McCartney recording again to me only proves that true musicians are not (only) in it for the money.

Polly Russia | 2/26/2008, 7:28 am EST

It is not true.”Flaming Pie” or “Memory Almost Full” (at least) are not commercial alboms at all. You can find more commercial questions in “Foo Fighters”,for example.

thebrutaltimes | 2/26/2008, 9:26 am EST

just an idea – you may want to add killing joke to your artists database. seeing as RS is now (20 years after the fact) giving them some press. it’s a bit sad to see kelly osbourne listed as one of your most influential rolling stone artists, and no kj.

He best albums were with the Beatles, and it was downhill after that. I just wish he would put the effort in to make the greatest album ever, something to outsell the likes of ‘Thriller’, and beat all the modern day bands. With his musical talents he could make something so good!

Paul_Forever | 7/6/2009, 10:45 pm EST

All I am saying (is give peace a chance) is that Paul deosn’t do thuis for the money. He does it because he loves music. And I’m gonna keep listening and supporting him untill he dies. Even if he comes out on stage in a wheelchair and can’t play his bass for arthritis, and his singing sounds like a dying cat, I gotta support him. As a member of the punk rock band !luv! from one musician to another I say Rock On Paul, Paul Forever!
