Paramore’s Williams Admits Band Has “Internal Issues,” Plus More From Her RS Q&A

2/21/08, 5:20 pm EST

There appears to be trouble in paradise for the kids in Paramore. Today frontwoman Hayley Williams blogged about the cancelation of the rest of the dates on their European tour, citing “internal issues” as a problem. The apologetic post (addressed to fans, specifically those who had tickets to nixed shows) noted that there have been unspoken tensions within the band since the beginning of their U.S. tour last year, and those conflicts have come to a head. There was no indication that the band would be breaking up, though it appears as though they want to be ready for their co-headlining tour with Jimmy Eat World, which is scheduled to launch April 1st in San Antonio, TX. Williams writes, “If we can use this next month wisely then we will be a lot healthier for the tours ahead. We hope that — even though it might be hard to understand — that you guys can support us at this time.”

Williams gave no indication that her Grammy-nominated band was facing a rough patch when she spoke with Rolling Stone for our current issue. Check out the print edition to find out how Williams evolved from an ‘NSync fanatic to a New Found Glory devotee, and how she approaches lyric writing as a devout Christian. Click here to check out even more from that interview, including Williams’ thoughts on guns, girl groups and great bands.

I wonder why there are still haters for such band. Paramore is absolutely awesome. i mean, u guys, look at their hard works (i heard Hayley started the band when she was 13?? — CMIIAW)

I hope they won’t break up. they’re on the top now. :) God bless Paramore!

Ross | 2/4/2009, 6:40 am EST

Paramore have got better over the years, their song “decode” is pretty much the only song I listen to every single day. and cranked full ball. Rock N’ Roll is for oldies. c’mon ppl if u dont like modern rock then stay home and listen to the greatest hits of the 70’s.

Sometimes it’s good for a band to take a break. Not every band can make it through this though.

rockstar | 8/18/2008, 8:24 pm EST

crap! i don’t want the band to break up. i heard that she wanted to break up the band because she wanted to go to collage.

Darius | 6/19/2008, 4:36 pm EST

Flyleaf is better

none of your business | 4/23/2008, 6:01 pm EST

Right, first of all, learn to spell!
Second, just leave a band be, who cares what music they make, if they can become a popular band good for them
Don’t like the music? Don’t listen to it then
I like paramore and I like alot of other bands you don’t by the sounds of it, but why does that matter at all
leave people alone to do what makes them happy and what makes other people happy
because they will be remembered by more people then you ever will be, because by the sounds of things all that you people do is sit around moaning because a band is popular

Justin | 4/5/2008, 6:32 pm EST

For all the haters, Paramore is not breaking up anytime soon, thank God.

Also, I’ll bet half of the haters on this page haven’t even given them a listen, and if you have and still don’t listen to them, can’t you at least respect them for being an alternative band with someone who can actually sing very well?

johanas broodwitch | 3/26/2008, 10:57 am EST

co-headlining with jimmy
wow!

Amanda Marraw | 3/19/2008, 2:47 am EST

If u Paramore haters didn’t exist the world would be better place. Paramore I really hope u find out how to fix these problems. What would the world be without u here making everything better for your fans that truly love u.

Amanda Marraw | 3/17/2008, 4:08 am EST

Yall fools that r hating on Paramore r just freaking retarted and u need to shut up cuz they have more talent than u ever will, and they give some people a reason to wake up in the morning. The power of God must exist if there is a band as amazing as Paramore. I really hope they find a solution for their problems, they don’t deserve crap from all u freakin haters, cuz they r better than u will ever be. Have a heart.

JoLeigh | 3/1/2008, 5:24 pm EST

Music is in such a sad state right now! Paramore was actually a band that was working on making music better. All the nay sayers can tell me who they think is a good new artist. I work in a music store and I dare you to tell me a new BAND that deserves as much as paramore has been given. I hope they work everything out so we can at least have something to talk about

"better music" | 2/27/2008, 8:09 pm EST

My dog just farted, so mission accomplished.

Anonymous | 2/26/2008, 11:38 am EST

If you don’t like it, go out and make some better music.

whistlindick | 2/25/2008, 11:01 pm EST

No great loss. Not a real band anyway, just a record company scam. Hope you don’t mind working at Taco Bell, guys.

“The primary “internal issue” with Paramore is their shitty music, which makes me want to lose my lunch.”

Hopefully when you lose your lunch you pull a Mama Cass, if you get my drift!

FizzyBovril | 2/22/2008, 8:44 am EST

Who the frik are Paramore…? Exactly, musical no marks that will be thankfully forgotten about in a year or so. If this band does split up, then I will believe in the power of God!

Amanda | 2/22/2008, 8:08 am EST

I hope they dont split up i really really like paramore it will be a shame.

Jeremy | 2/22/2008, 12:31 am EST

Okay…this must be news to SOMEONE but I’m scratching my head and asking, “Who the fuck are Paramore?”

Three strikes against them: the singer was an “NSync fanatic”, later became a “New Found Glory devotee” and approaches “lyric writing as a devout Christian”.

I can only imagine what this silly bitch’s “thoughts on guns, girl groups and great bands” may be. She should be beaten with a pillowcase full of MC5 cd’s.

Dear God…what has happened to Rock N’ Roll???

Charlie Miller | 2/21/2008, 10:47 pm EST

Man, they are pure suck.

Michael | 2/21/2008, 10:43 pm EST

Damn they better not break up! I love Paramore!

sy | 2/21/2008, 10:33 pm EST

will you stop plugging this horrible band….

Stuporfly | 2/21/2008, 10:33 pm EST

The primary “internal issue” with Paramore is their shitty music, which makes me want to lose my lunch.
