Every week Poison frontman Bret Michaels searches for a worthy life partner on Rock of Love 2, while Rock Daily searches for ways to reference “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” in our Rock Reality Show Recaps. Here’s our take on episode five:
Sixty Minutes of Rockin’ Reality in Two Sentences: The Destiney-led Fallen Angels tackle the Catherine-helmed Sweethearts in the second annual Rock of Love Mud Bowl, a truly filthy, vicious game of full-contact football. Ambre dominates at first, but Daisy picks up the slack and leads the Fallen Angels to victory — and a solo date at a lingerie store for herself, while the rest of the winners drive fast cars on a racetrack.
Did Every Rose Have Its Thorn?: Bret seems to have replaced his propensity for strumming his favorite ballad with a tendency to scream “Hey-o!” like a bandanna-topped Ed McMahon.
The Most Ridiculous Part: Peyton, frustrated at her lack of Bret time, pins a message to his door — which is then removed by Megan, who comes to deliver her own little love note. Peyton slips a second message through the door, but not far enough, as Megan trashes the second note, too. Bret’s eight-year-old has to be more mature than this.
The Rockin’ Finish: After his date with Daisy, Bret implies he’s looking for a bit more of an emotional connection with his thus-far favorite, then Catherine scores some vital alone time with Michaels, and Kristy Joe for some reason reveals she has restraining orders out on her two exes. All this leads up to an elimination where … nobody goes home. Michaels makes it look like he has picked Peyton over Daisy, but in the end says he saved the best for last — and “rewards” Daisy with her pass. Note to Bret: making girls think they’re eliminated isn’t actually a reward.
