Weekend Rock List: Dream Festival Lineup

2/8/08, 5:33 pm EST

In honor of the announcement of the Bonnaroo, Glastonbury and South by Southwest line-ups, this week we ask you, the reader/festival-goer, to tell us headliners would comprise your dream festival. Pick three reasonably plausible acts (you can’t go resurrecting Jerry Garcia or Jim Morrison, but you can reunite the Talking Heads), and on Monday, we’ll draw up the Readers’ Dream Festival Line-Up. Here are our picks:

  • Led Zeppelin
  • Radiohead
  • Pavement
  • The Smiths
  • Bob Dylan

zak e | 2/8/2008, 5:54 pm EST

My dream festival line-up would consist of Weezer on Friday night, Pearl Jam Saturday night, and Bob Dylan Sunday night.

Seth | 2/8/2008, 6:10 pm EST

For the sake of picking what hasn’t been picked, I’ll say -Arcade Fire, The Strokes, The Hold Steady

Three headliners over three days?

Friday – Blur
Saturday – The Verve

Black Sabbath with Ozzy Friday
Black Sabbath with Dio Saturday
Led Zeppelin (with Dave Grohl drumming) Sunday

Amy | 2/9/2008, 11:41 am EST

Bob Dylan is a very disappointing act nowadays. His voice is completely gone and his performance is disinterested. Zeppelin would be excellent.

It doesnt really matter the order in which they play, as long as Arcade Fire are last–they’re the only band that knows what real climax is.
And for all you folks who want to see Mars Volta live, i saw them a while back and they were probably the worst thing i’ve ever seen grace a stage before.
I love their music, but no. Just no.

* I almost forgot to mention, I would ACTUALLY restore Brad Nowell in Sublime. I know you guys at Rolling Stone/rs.com mentioned the No Resuerecting Dead Rock Star Policy, Sublime wasn’t solidly fantastic without the late Mr. Nowell-real talk. Hope y’all can take it for what it’s worth.
