Amy Winehouse will perform during this year’s Grammy ceremony despite being denied a visa. Thanks to the wonders of technology, Winehouse, who is currently encamped in a U.K. rehab center, will perform live in a London studio the night of the awards show, with her performance being beamed to Los Angeles and around the world via satellite. “I’m raring to go and really excited to be performing at my first Grammy Awards,” Winehouse tells Usmagazine.com. “I’m really sorry I can’t be there but I appreciate that I’m being given a second chance via satellite.” Also performing at the Grammys (though not yet officially confirmed) is Kanye West, who was seen rehearsing for the ceremony yesterday afternoon. West, nominated for eight awards, will reportedly perform a medley of tracks including “Hey Mama” as a tribute to his mother Donda.

Amy Winehouse has 10x as much talent as almost anyone in the world. She slipped of track and no one will forgive her for it even though she is trying to back on. Amy, recover in rehab and keep astounding the world.

I’m old, mid fifties, and am crazy about most of Amy Winehouse’s songs, especially Rehab. Hope Ms. Winehouse gets the help she needs with her addictions, but I don’t begrudge her the awards. She deserved them and the songs are terrific; I was mesmerized as she sang Sunday night!

ummm…there are two people using the name Jude on here….I made the first comment on Amy, not the crack addict, thrice divorced, Jesus freak….if you were wondering…

Jude … Get off your “high” horse. When did your God give you permission to pick up the stones and start hurling them? You are the reason I despise organized religion. Bunch of bible thumpin judgmental pr!cks. The difference between Amy and you? She’s got talent and your just a waste of space. Ask your kids if they’d rather listen to Amy sing or take a beating from you and I’m sure I can guess their answer.
Cheers!

Her next album will probably be the nail in the coffin of her life and career so don’t spend all that money on 1 dealer honey! Can’t wait to hear those Rehab lyrics tasting like shit coming out of her mouth tomorrow!

I’m going with Taylor Swift. She’s the real deal, and it’s her year. But I do appreciate Ms Winehouse’s talent.

I hope she doesn’t take drugs and act like Britney Spears. It is gettng really low life to see alot of druggies preforming.. The music industry is going down the tubes. Her hit song is all about not wanting to go to rehab. Yeah.. great social message to send out to the druggies and dope pushers..

Love is a losing game is a awesome song .I hope she sings that one or Back to Black.

Amy is a hot piece of tail and I would like to see her go sucky-sucky instead of singing. She is ripe for pay-per-view porn.

I’m not a fan of amy winehouse however i think she’s got alot of potential and that rehab song is so damn catchy. ALso, you have to give her credit for being honest in her lyrical content. I don’t think it’s fair for an admitted (recovering)drug addict who confessed to beating her kids, hitting her husband, and who is thrice divorced to be judging and condemning (in the name of HER LORD)a soul to damnation. Remember what the good book says. “Let He is without sin cast the first stone.” Just because you’re a former addict doesn’t entitle you to judge someone who is currently struggling with addiction. Why shoulldn’t amy winehouse or any other entertainer have a shot of redemption.? She’s taking the steps to get sober and you have to respect her for that if nothing else. Wether she has longevity in the music business is a separate issue but like i said i think she’s got potential and should be given an oppurtuntity to redeem herself.

I’m sorry, but if people dont think that musicians do drugs, it is incredibly naive. The difference between Winehouse and other musicians is that her drug addiction is incredibly publicized. You dont hear people complaining about Anthony Keidis and Red Hot Chili Peppers playing on TV, or Paul McCartney for that matter. People seem to forget about the entire music movement in the 60s that was practically driven by drug use. I’m not saying its cool to do drugs, but you cant single out Amy Winehouse and call her a heathen when many other artists performing are guilty of the same crime.

As a rehabilitating crack addict myself, it is really disgraceful to see Amy go off the deep end when she has so much going for her at the moment. And even though I’ve battled drugs and have been charged with child abuse and neglect and been through 3 divorces, I continue to move on with my life and make amends and pray to Jesus. Amy is a sinner and should be punished by the Lord! The Grammys should shun such a disgraceful degenerate who obviously has strayed from the Lord’s flock. If I can appreciate life as the Lord has giveth me and improve myself even though I’m a recovering drug addict and have beaten my children and ex-husbands, so can she.

she is amazing. we all have our issues, it doesn’t mean we also don’t have our talents.
you dont like her? then dont watch the grammys.
problem solved.

Amy is a tortured soul, one pre-requisite to being a great artist. Can’t wait to hear her. I hope she cleans herself up and continues to shine for many years to come.
We live in a media culture where everybody is so quick to jump on someone who is dealing with heavy issues. Leave Amy be, enjoy her music, don’t obsess over how she hurts herself.
DeadHorse | 2/8/2008, 12:59 pm EST
Ridiculous. The chick is such a waste of space…Just what I want to do on my Sunday evening, watch a Junkie Self-Destruct. Is this MTV’s Real Life?
Jude | 2/8/2008, 11:56 am EST
We wonder why so called superstars in the music business keep on continuing with their selfish, self destructive behaviour, and then watch as Amy Winehouse is given a chance to perform from Rehab? What a joke…Amy, who is nothing special in the first place, shouldn’t be given that chance, and should be shunned from this award show, instead of the music business enabling her actions by letting her play anyway…disgraceful….
