This isn’t an “American Tragedy” here. It’s sad and chaotic for her and her family, but be reasonable.
This isn’t like Elvis Presley or Kurt Cobain going downhill from drugs or depression. She wasn’t especially talented in the first place.

She has no one to blame but herself. Anyone who pities her, and thinks her troubles are because “the paparazzi won’t leave her alone”, needs to have their head examined. She has free will, and the capacity to make choices, like anyone else, and she easily could’ve made her life better if she wanted. But she’s a fame whore, she needs to be in the spotlight for something, anything, even it’s being a trainwreck. She can be summed up very easily: She’s just your basic garden-variety airhead, without much talent, who got lucky early in life and then, through her own stupidity, pissed her career away.

Wow, you are guys are SO brutal, and correct.

Are you kidding me, Britney Spears gets the cover. Heath Ledger dies and she gets the cover….thats fucked up. Thats like Rolling Stone pissing on Joe Strummer, when he died they gave the cover to Justin Timberlake, come on now Justin Fucking Timberlake

A tragedy indicates that this wasn’t completely expected. I knew this was coming the first time I heard her speak. She’s a trailer park girl returning to her hillbilly roots.
aghhhhhhhhhhhh tgi | 2/6/2008, 4:56 pm EST

Britney in one sentence:
“Look at me!……STOP LOOKING AT ME!!!!!!!!!!!…….no, look at me now!!………..AGH, STOP LOOKING AT ME!!!!!!!”
She’s ridiculous.

The only “Tragedy” is that we have lost a damn fine actor and this bitch is still alive.
Mom | 2/7/2008, 10:30 am EST
Well, what the hell happened to compassion? That girl has a MENTAL problem, anyone who can’t see that she has been struggling with it for a long time is an idiot. Who can that girl trust? Money hungry, hand out, back stabbing people? She needs a some serious therapy and a good dose of Medication. Give her a break, Sheesh!

Although I do agree that Spears could’ve turned her life around earlier, I fear that her current mental state and the care that she is being provided (mostly by Sam Lutfi) is only bringing her down further.
As far as this cover story and article are concerned, (granted I’m no journalist but I know what sells) I believe that this could not have published at a worst time considering all the drama already surrounding Spears.
vnufall | 2/8/2008, 12:50 am EST
shes mentally ill. between drugs alcohol, men, babies, career she just imploded….everyone including rolling stone is making money off her demise. it;s sickening.
VN | 2/9/2008, 12:52 am EST
Its clear she is suffering from
BIPOLAR DISORDER!!! Educate yourselves, and you’ll understand
why this is all happening….
cd | 2/9/2008, 5:21 pm EST
shes the female elvis….you cant be that famous without it destroying you…
Lynn | 2/10/2008, 1:53 pm EST
What a brilliant publicity stunt? I mean after all the career killing moments she’s had how else do you manage to get the cover or Rolling Stone … Hey I got it … Let’s be bi-polar or have multiple personality disorder. I don’t believe people are comparing her to Elvis and Cobain. Smells like Press Agent to me.
Taanya | 2/10/2008, 5:20 pm EST
Any idea where i can purchase this issue in the UK? I’ve been looking everywhere and can only seem to find an old issue with Johnny Depp on the cover.
Thanks. =]

Hollywood/celebrity has always been like this.
You have to be disturbed to lust for fame in the first place.
