Amy Winehouse Still a Possibility for the Grammys

2/4/08, 1:18 pm EST

Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse briefly left rehab today to renew her visa with the intentions of appearing at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Us Magazine reports. Winehouse might attend the awards on Sunday with a chaperone and return to rehab when she arrives back in the U.K. If she does attend, there’s still no word on whether or not she will perform (as Mark Ronson hinted to Rock Daily a few weeks ago), but she is likely to win at least one of the six awards (including Album of the Year and Record of the Year) for which she has been nominated.

I dunno, if she’s used to performing loaded, doing the Grammy’s sober might be a bit much. I can’t think of a more anxiety-prone experience. Maybe they can give her xanax and beta blockers or something.

Celebrity rehab, my rear end! Actually, it’s worth her time to go: The rap nominees can probably help her score some crack and then tell her where to go to get some more stupid-looking nasty ink on her body while she is in town for the show.

Nope, denied. LOL! No way was the US gonna let her in. Too bad.
