With all fears of the Writers Guild of America’s strike interfering with their show assuaged, the Grammys have added a fresh lot of performers that will take the stage at the February 10th awards ceremony. Alicia Keys, Feist and the casts of Beatles’ tributes Across the Universe and “The Beatles LOVE by Cirque de Soleil” are now on the bill, with Bonnie Raitt, Natalie Cole and Juanes added as presenters. The new class joins the previously announced Foo Fighters, Beyonce, Rihanna & the Time, and Mary J. Blige. On Monday, the WGA agreed to an interim deal with the Recording Academy, allowing the striking writers to participate in the event.

Well I for one adored the 2007 Grammy’s show but this year’s slate of nominees just isn’t as noteworthy.
Particularly why were Springsteen, KT Tunstall and Crowded House all left off the list of nominations? ? Crowded Houses’s new CD is hot hot hot and so is Tunstall’s. Guess I shouldn’t be too surprised about Springsteen being left off since his “The Rising” s/have been #1 spot the year it came out, but they didn’t even nominate it… At least the song Hey There Delilah got nominated so at least some talent won’t go unnoticed.

Nothing boosts ratings like an ex-Beatle… or Beatles tribute, but there’s also nothing worse than other artists trying to perform Beatles’ music (with a few notable exceptions)
