Gnarls Barkley’s New Album Title: “The Odd Couple”

Based on their penchant for creative photo shoots, we’re picturing a cover depicting Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse as Felix and Oscar when the LP hits shelves in April, according to the group’s Web site. For Rock Daily’s preview of a few key tracks from the duo’s second album, click here.

For such an original-sounding band, the new album’s name is very unoriginal. I hope this isn’t an omen for an uninspired follow-up to a great album.

I think the album title fits the them quite nicely. JP you do know the first album name was a television show right?

Cee-lo has never made anything “uninspired” in his whole damn life, so I wouldnt be too concerned about that…I was hoping for a Cee-lo solo album before another Gnarls Barkley album, but hey, im not complaining or nuthin…

I am glad cee lo and Danger Mouse have stuck together and made another album because while they are great on there own ‘Gnarls Barkley’ can really go somewhere and I look forward to listening to that somewhere, also on a side note, its very nice to see some original inspired music that obviously has its soul, funk and hip hop roots but at the same time is taking on other genres and trying to push the music further.
