
- Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and the Raconteurs are among the huge headliners scheduled to perform at this year’s Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans. The fest, which will take place April 25-27 and May 1-4, will open with a benefit performance by Little Richard.
- R.E.M. have revealed the tracklist for their new album, Accelerate. Closer “I’m Gonna DJ” was recorded for their last album Around the Sun, and featured on their last tour. “Supernatural Superserious” will be the lead single.
- Bjork was forced to cancel her headlining performance at the this Friday’s Big Day Out in Sydney, Australia after suffering from swelling of the vocal cords.
- Even though digital sales rose forty percent worldwide, the CD’s decline is officially a global issue as the compact disc’s sharp descent resulted in total music sales in 2007 dropping ten percent from their already-low 2006 numbers.
- City officials in Los Angeles have asked for a court injunction banning former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight and members of the Mob Piru street gang from congregating in Compton after 10pm. Knight responded, “I don’t even live in Compton anymore,” and then called the injunction “a publicity stunt.
