The New Issue of Rolling Stone: Thom Yorke & Radiohead

1/23/08, 9:35 am EST

Thom Yorke graces the cover of the new issue of Rolling Stone, which hits newsstands today. His revolutionary band has made a career out of defying odds and pushing the envelope, and they talk candidly about the creation of In Rainbows, the future of record labels, and why Yorke is still paranoid after all these years. To read an excerpt from the cover story, click here, and to check out a photo gallery tracking the band from Yorke’s long-haired Pablo Honey days to the present, click here.

best cover in a long time.

This can’t be Rolling Stone. There’s an actual band on the cover.

God damnit Radiohead?????????/ Those no talent wastes of spaces!!! I loathe Radiohead so much. I am still waiting for a real band to grace the cover in anything but a white background. Give me The White Stripes before crappy Radiohead!

OK, granted, these guys should have been on the cover in October when their record was released on their site (you know, staying ahead of the curve),
but way better late than never. For the first time in … forever? I am looking forward the my new RS arriving in my mailbox two good weeks after it hits the shelves!

Stupid RS readers | 1/23/2008, 10:49 am EST

to the A-holes that bitch and whine about “un-musicians” being on the cover of RS……RS has been covering pop-culture icons for 30 odd years,,,,,,actors, writers, and music. Wake up and smell the coffee.

with your constant Radiohead praise. If they were to record a album of farts you would think it was the best. Don’t get my wrong i am a fan but i’m just sick of your constant mentions of them on your website. Also what took you so long to put them on the cover they have been out since the early 90s. But atleast you actually put a band on your cover but why just Thom and not the rest of them.

Am i the only one that can’t even stand to look at a picture of Thom he looks like a leprechaun and Clay Aiken.

But where’s Victor Wooten?!

rockstarr26 | 1/23/2008, 6:02 pm EST

personally, i could deal with a radiohead cover every week.

about time, Rolling Stone…

To everyone complaining: shut the fuck up and go buy The Source or Tiger Beat and be happy…

[wish it would've been the whole band, though...]

It’s about time. I gasped when I saw Thom on the cover. Radiohead are sensational. Have a listen, all you doubters. There music can whip you into a frenzy, make you weep and then get backup and spin around until you are dizzy wanting more. Thank you Mr Jann Wenner.

Finally, a band/artist who deserves the cover. Radiohead is amazing. Thumbs up RS, maybe I’ll read your mag more unless of course you continue to put HighSchool Musical stars or Fall Out Boy

I can’t agree more with 90 percent of the comments. I’m not sure how they do it every time, but once again they produce something that hits you straight to your core.

noah | 11/10/2009, 7:55 pm EST

to tom,
hey don’t you dare rip on Radiohead! They have more talent than most bands out there today! Let me guess you’re a loyal American who only likes American bands, well guess what buddy who gives a crap about the American music scene?! Give me Radiohead or give me death. I mean no offense to anyone’s musical taste it just sickens me to hear people ripping on Radiohead.
cheers, noah
