1/18/08, 6:00 pm EST

In honor of Mike Huckabee, sparkly-faced American Idol reject Alexis Cohen and the multiple personalities of Britney Spears, we dedicate this week’s Rock List to those going insane. Let us know your favorite songs about losing your mind, and next week we’ll reveal the Reader’s List. Until then, get some inspiration from the second disc of Pink Floyd’s The Wall or check out our picks here:

Prince – “Let’s Go Crazy”

red-haired goddess | 1/19/2008, 2:07 pm EST

How can you have a list of “insane” songs without people picking the standards first? That would’ve been like having the 7 minute song list without listing “Stairway To Heaven”!

Paranoid
Am I Going Insane
Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Brain Damage
Comfortable Numb
Mother
Manic Depression
Communication Breakdown

From the looks of the entries, it looks like the list is being compiled by ONE CRAZY PERSON!!! ha ha ha!

BA | 1/19/2008, 2:39 pm EST

You can make an argument for Helter Skelter, I mean it did inspire an asshole and his minions to commit a mass murder, who inspired another asshole to use his name and start a band. yeah, Helter Skelter has definitely inspired some insanity!

And Revolution No. 9 would not be possible without the combined insane efforts of John and Yoko!

And John wanted to release it as a a single!!! Was he insane? Yep, just a bit!

I Am Trying to Break Your Heart- Wilco

Right around 6:01 or so the sound becomes a nervous breakdown with Jeff screaming about being a “disposable dixie cup drinker” and swallowing the words “was you . . .
