1/7/08, 6:21 pm EST

Last week, inspired by Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood’s score for There Will Be Blood, we asked you for the best soundtracks by a single artist. While we allowed “majority rules” picks like Aimee Mann’s Magnolia, rock flicks like The Wall, Tommy and A Hard Day’s Night were all disqualified under the Song Remains the Same clause. Yet, we counted Purple Rain. Let’s not get into semantics. Check out, and listen to, your picks for Readers’ Twenty-Five Top Soundtracks By One Artist here.

PS: Where was the Elliott Smith Good Will Hunting love, guys?

You can’t include Purple Rain and not Hard Day’s Night. They’re both the same type of movie/album star vehicle package.
