For Christmas, T.I. is giving his fans a present … another rambling, incoherent home movie from his jail cell/mansion. Whereas Tip’s first video showed him as confident, chilling in his cavernous living room and declaring he’d be found not-guilty of all those gun charges he’s facing, this time we’re witnesses to a scarf-clad T.I. meandering around a Christmas tree in full Howard Hughes mode, like he’s been driven nuts by house-arrest-induced cabin fever and too much eggnog. With a small child nearby (you can hear youthful voices throughout the video), T.I. uses his “White Room,” billiard room and an unlit portion of his house we assume is his garage to remind his fans that “the-the-the great silverback is back,” his new LP is approximately thirty percent complete and that “I can’t talk much about the situation, but keep a smile on your face because I got a smile on mine.” To close out the three-minute clip, T.I. apologizes to UGK’s Pimp C for being unable to make it to his funeral, for obvious reasons.
