
- The Killers were in front of a different kind of audience today, as they faced a second day of questioning in a California court to avoid paying a former manager $3 million in unpaid commissions. The band contests that their manager, Braden Merrick, booked employment without a license, and thus are seeking to void their management contract.
- Fabolous has come to the defense of his “Street Family” crew, saying his posse is “a crew of rappers” and not “a gang of street homies.” The statement comes after the New York Police Department investigated the “Street Family” for a string of pro-athlete robberies.
- A millionaire heir in Miami paid Prince, or “He who sues his own fan sites,” a staggering $2 million to perform at his fortieth birthday party. Prince played a hits-filled set that included “Purple Rain,” “1999″ and “Nothing Compares 2 U” to an audience that featured New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, director Brett Ratner and actor James Caan.
- Amy Winehouse was “arrested” today in London on suspicion of attempting to interfere with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s court case, Us reports. And by “arrested,” we mean she voluntarily showed up for questioning and was placed under arrest, which is common practice in the U.K. when facing questioning. No charges have been filed against Winehouse.
- Morrissey has confirmed the fifteen non-Smiths tracks that will appear on his upcoming greatest-hits album. Joining tracks like “Every Day Is Like Sunday” and “The First of the Gang to Die” are two new songs titled “That’s How People Grow Up” and “All You Need is Me.”
