The 02 gig was rigged with guitar and voice recordings that much is obvious. Jimmy can’t play worth a dime anymore and Robert’s voice is shot. Be real. If they do tour they will then go down as sell outs in my book. Keep the dignity and stay home.

I got lucky and “won” two tickets, so me and my best friend arrived 4 days prior and enjoyed pub hopping for several days. We waited in line for 6 hours; and then stood front and center about 30 feet from the stage, for another 5 hours. Brutal for a couple of old farts, but worth it.

The show was the icing on the cake, although there were some significant feedback problems, especially Good Times Bad Times. I sure hope they tour so fans get the chance to see them again, but they have to control ticket distribution as they did this time or touting/scalping will be catastrophic.

A DVD seems obvious, but if vanity gets in the way Jimmy may not allow it as he looked crazed, and at times appeared to be drooling he was so in to it!]

It was a show I’ll never forget; probably the best concert I’ve ever experienced - especially given the trip to London, and all the fans from dozens of countries. There was a vipe in and around the arena that we were going to see something unique, and the vipe lived up to reality.

I still can’t get it out of my mind….

Aged 16, went to Royal Albert Hall to see Zepp for the first time. We were only a few rows back in the stalls and it was (and maybe still is) best gig I ever went to. Imagine my surprise when I realised it is the gig on the first disk of the Led Zepp double DVD. Talk about memories! Like most of you, I’m waiting eagerly the DVD of the O2 show.

Rover | 1/2/2008, 10:44 am EST

I hope they don’t keep us fans hanging too long, I had the honor of seeing them in 73,75 and 77(all 6 nights) The absolute best live band ever.

sydwaters | 12/26/2007, 7:42 am EST

Wonderful but where’s the official live album realease?

Zeppo | 12/20/2007, 12:46 am EST

I’m enjoying the cel phone clips from the balcony a lot more than the BBC Black Dog clip, which presumably was shot with the official cams. Why? One–The BBC clip is the modern, cut every three seconds BS you see on every modern rock DVD. Please please Warner when you release the DVD make an alternate view from some fixed place on the balcony where you see the band and the video in back, as if you were THERE. TWO–The cel clips get the echoey, loud, reverbery noise that made and makes a Zep show great–they are not Godz because of their precise musicianship, but because of the power blur–so please can you do a second audio channel from the back of the arena? Just asking.

Wonderful performance! I had the privilige, Baton Rouge, La., May 19, 1977. Anyone that does not acknowledge this is the greatest band ever has either never seen them live, doesn’t have a clue about rock, and/or is a moron. I remember some critics saying the Baton Rouge show was off. Blithering idiots, they. Me and several of my friends thought we had seen God. If that was off, an “on” show would have caused death and resurretion. Please excuse my blasphemy, but that is how it was.

Die-Hard Led-Head | 12/14/2007, 3:04 pm EST

If they sound THAT good on a mic the size of a pinhead, can you JUST IMAGINE how awesome it was for those who were there?! (By the way, if manager Peter Grant was still alive the only people getting into the O2 with a cell phone would be the ones who stuffed them up their butts!) Seriously though, I’m sure the band doesn’t mind the bootlegging… it simply adds to the hype, creating more demand for the polished DVD due out next year!

Can you say “Magick”? Simply THE GREATEST rock band EVER. Period.

Almost half a world away, i sat and waited, almost half a world away my eyes were glued on you-tube,almost half a world away i kept gettin edgy, almost half a world away i saw their first uploaded video….and i cried.I know they will never tour my country but i also do know that if they ever go on a world tour i will sell my last piece of clothing to just reach there.
My father used to say that my generation would never see them live and courtesy that we would never really know what Rock ever was. I thank LZ for proving my dad wrong and right at the same time.
Thank u guyz,God Bless u!

Didn’t you notice the headset mike on Jason Bonham? Pretty sure he was singing during Good Times Bad Times. It sounds terrific.

donovan | 12/12/2007, 12:16 am EST

les paul, it would take quite a bit of rehearsal to get the timing right for a backing vocal track, i doubt they used one

Zoso | 12/11/2007, 11:09 pm EST

Fucking rock and roll.
Oh yes.

gypsy lover | 12/11/2007, 9:22 pm EST

I was completely spellbound in utter disbelief of the ferocity displayed by the ageless legends.

No words can describe the influence Zeppelin have had on me, how much I love all of their music, how many hours I’ve spent jamming along to their albums.

Having said all that, I am convinced that Plant had a backing track, especially during Whole Lotta Love when he gets to the high part of the long l-o-v-e. I’ve listened to it over and over. It doesn’t sound like it’s coming from the same set of vocal chords as the rest of the performance. I think Kashmir may be the same.

At least (I hope) he wasn’t reading the lyrics from a prompter like he has done in the last few years upon occasion.

Can’t quite make up my mind on the performance overall. Most of the live recordings I’ve heard always make me cringe a little. I can’t put my finger on it. Notable exceptions are the performances on the DVD.

Perhaps I have to be truly immersed in it.

Nevertheless - the greatest band far and above anything else in any genre. Ever. Past and future.

Ken (Northford) | 12/11/2007, 9:10 pm EST

I wish I wish I wish I was there. I was ready to go see them in New York in 1979 then John passed. They MUST MUST tour!!!

Margarete (St. Augustine FL) | 12/11/2007, 8:54 pm EST

Thank You for sharing your music … A Zeppelin tour would be a wonderful celebration for all ~
Gentlemen ~ You ARE the Masters of Rock and Roll and my very favorite for the entire 40 years!

spence | 12/11/2007, 8:46 pm EST

I have a friend who saw Page and Plant ten years ago and said, with a sigh, “Plant just can’t hit the notes anymore.”

Either he’s wrong, or Robert’s been exercising. This sounds awesome.

carlos | 12/11/2007, 8:00 pm EST

simple the graetest on rock .thank yuo zep .please love us and tour .make the tour for the lovers of rock around the world

rxwst | 12/11/2007, 7:05 pm EST

They shouldn’t overthink this. If they enjoy playing and they sound this good and we want to see it, don’t fight the feeling. And if the under 30 set make snotty comments on their blogs they can go scratch. I’ll be in Giants Stadium in April listening to Kashmir.

art 87 | 12/11/2007, 6:51 pm EST

Page still looks cool with white hair like a rock & roll Gandalf.

Jeff Beck was spellbinding in London in November and his great friend Jimmy Page had dynamic riffs at the Led Zeppelin reunion concert in December. Guitar gods are ageless. LONDON ROCKS !

James | 12/11/2007, 5:30 pm EST

If they do not tour in 2008, it is a crime against nature, and i will cry!

Swingline | 12/11/2007, 5:20 pm EST

That version of “Kahmir” was fucking smokin’ hot! Plant as good as ever, hitting the notes, Page being the guitar GOD, Jones playing gorgeous keyboards, and Jason making his daddy proud playing “cannons” for drums. Its so thunderous, so heavy so ZEPPELIN! Well done lads!

Shaun (Washington State) | 12/11/2007, 3:53 pm EST

Are they are wild as they used to be? probably not. Are they still the Hammer Of The Gods? You Bet your ass. About time that another generations of people get to experience what true musical showmanship is. Well Come Back Zep!
