Led Zeppelin: The Reunion Set List

12/10/07, 6:24 pm EST

The show just ended at the O2 Arena, and there were some surprises: alongside the hoary classics (”Stairway to Heaven,” “Kashmir”) there was a strong selection of deeper cuts (”Trampled Under Foot,” “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”) and one live debut (Presence’s “For Your Life”). Tomorrow, we’ll have David Fricke’s complete report from the Ahmet Ertegun Benefit, but until then, here’s the full set list:

“Good Times, Bad Times”
“Ramble On”
“Black Dog”
“In My Time of Dying”
“For Your Life”
“Trampled Under Foot”
“Nobody’s Fault But Mine”
“No Quarter”
“Since I’ve Been Lovin’ You”
“Dazed and Confused”
“Stairway To Heaven”
“The Song Remains the Same”
“Misty Mountain Hop”
“Kashmir”

Encore:
“Whole Lotta Love”
“Rock and Roll”

Led Zep is an AMAZING band
Led Zeppelin is my religion and the Beatles are my God

#1 fantastic | 7/17/2008, 7:51 pm EST

to i hate led zeppelin and pink floyd and Queen person, first of all, all you wanted to say pretty much was that you are deprived of attention and needed some, second of all we are all able to have our own opinions so why do you have to say things like, “music” and such, it just makes you sound like a fucking dick, which, you probably are.

Marc | 3/18/2008, 8:32 pm EST

I saw Zep on the Physical Graffiti tour and recall John Rockwell of the NY Times writing the review in the row behind me. I saw the Firm with Page in the 80’s; I saw Plant solo in the 80’s, 90’s and warming up for somebody a few years ago at MSG. Was it The Who?

Carl Pierce Music | 3/16/2008, 8:14 am EST

All the bad mouthing Led Zeppelin are comments from people who know nothing about music, Led Zeppelin and the Stones are both Musical hero’s that will never be forgotten, Their music has motivated an inspire millions of people, they have made history, and their music will never be forgotten, their here to stay, so enjoy. Carl

I love Led Zep, but I hate all this ‘everyone else was crap’ stuff. There were others that were equally as important to music for different reasons.

TERRY FROM MICHIGAN | 2/2/2008, 9:45 am EST

OMG, The guy that posted he has to turn off Zeppelin, Queen, and Pink Floyd anytime they are on the radio has no taste in music! 3 of the greatest bands ever, Zeppelin being the best. How can you say that Zeppelin sucks? Best lead singer, guitarist, and drummer in the the world in thier prime all in 1 band. I will be in heaven if they tour again. I had 24 main floor tickets guaranteed when Bonham died and they cancelled the tour, I was heartbroken. They would sell out every show in minutes. lETS KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Derrick | 2/2/2008, 3:37 am EST

The “Ihateledzeppelin” guy . . .
1) probably smokes a lot of pot
2) is generally late to all appointments
3) is the guy who shows up to gigs missing key items like enough guitar cables for his rig, or capos, or setlists.

LED IS THE BEST | 1/19/2008, 3:59 am EST

LED ZEPPELIN IS AMAZING..DO A STATES TOUR AND THAT GUY HATING ON ZEPPELIN YOUR WHACK.. KILL YOUR SELF

Jack | 1/11/2008, 3:09 pm EST

Dude great setlist, but i would add some other classics like:
Heartbreaker, The Ocean, Immigrant Song, Moby Dick, Communacation Breakdown, Going To California, and Bring It On Home!

HoChi | 12/30/2007, 11:07 am EST

MY SET LIST:
THE OCEAN . GALLOWS POLE . YOUR TIME IS GONNA COME . RAMBLE ON . LIVIN LOVIN MAID . BATTLE OF EVERMORE . OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY . DANCIN DAYS . NIGHT FLIGHT . IN THE LIGHT . TANGERINE . BRING IT ON HOME . CUSTARD PIE . 4 STICKS . HEARTBREAKER.- Enough of stairways and llotta loves and confuded.-

LedZepfan | 12/29/2007, 4:39 pm EST

I would’ve liked Zep play “When the Levee Breaks” :( I’m sure it was a great show and can’t wait to see the DVD.

Vicki | 12/27/2007, 8:24 pm EST

After hearing that Led Zeppelin might do a tour in the states, I leaped for joy as I did not get to see them in their hey day in the 70’s. I did see Plant and Page, however, in Michigan in the 90’s. Ya still have what it takes guys!! Robert sounded absolutely fantastic and it was a real treat to hear Jimmy on the guitar…..you both rock! I would be most honored, with my head held high, to attend a Led Zeppelin concert!!! It makes me feel young again just to think about it! I am 54 and dearly wish to see you all together again at least once in my lifetime. Do it for your fans! We love you and WE WILL SUPPORT YOU! Your concerts will be sold out…wait and see! We’ve missed you all…please come back!!

Vicki from Ohio

P.S. One of the old songs I truly loved was “Thank You”!

ihateledzeppelinqueen&pinkfloy | 12/18/2007, 10:59 pm EST

I made a typing mistake I meant Queen.

ihateledzeppelinqueen&pinkfloy | 12/18/2007, 10:52 pm EST

The Rolling Stones,The Who,and Jimi Hendrix are all a *Million* times better than Led Zeppelin!!!! And The Beatles Are a *ZILLION* Times Better!!!!!

Led Zeppelin,Quenn and Pink Floyd are only 3 groups I have to get up off of my chair even if I’m very tired and turn off immediately!

ihateledzeppelinqueen&pinkfloy | 12/18/2007, 10:48 pm EST

It’s really interesting that you deleted my comments about Led Zeppelin being one of the worst bands or any “music” I have had the misfortune to hear!

Doc Lamothe | 12/16/2007, 11:44 am EST

All this bitching about a set list. The greatest Rock Gods ever gets together for a show after closing shop in 1980 and you guys complain about the set list…lets hope they tour and do another album. Rock and roll

Pete Fresh | 12/16/2007, 11:35 am EST

Tangerine!!!

8 | 12/16/2007, 1:57 am EST

Almost 10 years have gone since the [not-as-hyped!!!] Page & Plant tour of the late 90’s. Was there, *heard it*, and *experienced it* while they were younger [it was just like a Led Zep concert - they KNEW what everybody wanted to hear, and what difference does it make now? - they will not be able to fully and truly reunite all 4 ORIGINAL members]. Regretters who are crying today unfortunately missed that boat. But if they tour again, go if you all must, for there might not ever be a “next time” or “next opportunity” to see them again in concert.

g | 12/15/2007, 11:08 pm EST

Ill make the setlist: Hey hey what can i do, The girl i love she got long black wavy hair, your time is gonna come, in the light, tea for 1, the rover, bring it on home, tangerine, battle of evermore, over the hills, the ocean, encore: whole lotta love, how many more times, baby please come home. …. I know, I know, but its my dream lol

ricardo@villasenor.com | 12/15/2007, 2:16 am EST

THANKS ♫♪LED ZEPPELIN♪♫ FOR COMING BACK AND BE PART OF SAVING THE WORLD OF SO MUCH MEDIOCRE, IRREVERENT AND INSIGNIFICANT MUSIC THAT IS AROUND, I AM SURE IT WAS A DREAM FROM THEM, SPECIALLY JASON BONHAM, WHO MADE VIBRATE HIS FATHER SPIRIT WHEREVER HE IS, I HOPE IT LASTS ENOUGH TO DEMONSTRATE AND SHOW THE WORLD HOW ROCK & ROLL HAS TO BE.
!!HEY: PETER GABRIEL, STEVE HACKETT, PHIL COLLINS, TONY BANKS & MIKE RUTHERFORD, COME ON!! IT IS TIME TO COME TO COME BACK AND BE PART OF SAVING THE WORLD OF MUSIC LIKE THE ZEPP IS DOING, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???? SAME TO YOU FLOYD♫
RITCHIE

mabewa | 12/14/2007, 5:45 am EST

I think that the setlist is GREAT. Not what I would have personally chosen… but then again, one of the greatest things about Zep is that any fan would have his/her own dream setlist. BTW, for the person who claimed that there was nothing from III, you’re forgetting about Since I’ve Been Loving You. The only album they missed was In Through the Out Door, unless you count Coda (you shouldn’t).

Unknown | 12/13/2007, 6:20 pm EST

No matter what Led Zeppelin will never be forgotten. They are up in the top 2. No matter how you look at it they will always be fighting for the title of greatest in history

ricardo@villasenor.com | 12/13/2007, 2:25 pm EST

GRACIAS LED ZEPPELIN POR CONVERTIR UN SUEÑO DE MUCHOS EN REALIDAD, ESTOY SEGURO QUE ERA UN SUEÑO DE USTEDES TAMBIEN, ESPECIALMENTE DE JASON BONHAM QUIEN SEGURAMENTE HIZO VIBRAR EL ESPIRITU DE SU PADRE DONDEQUIERA QUE ESTE, GRACIAS DE VERDAD LED ZEPPELIN POR REGRESAR Y SALVAR AL MUNDO DE TANTA MUSICA MEDIOCRE, IRREVERENTE E INSIGNIFICANTE, DIOS QUIERA QUE DURE LO SUFICIENTE PARA MOSTRAR AL MUNDO COMO DEBE SER LA MUSICA TODAVIA, TODAVIA, TODAVIA. LONG LIVE ZEPP!!

Led Zeppelin is brilliant, a truly “great” band, The Beatles and Stones are too in their way. Of course there is the one band that will always challenge all of them. For me The Who remains the most unique and the only number one band for me. I bleed The Who!

miccc | 12/12/2007, 10:50 pm EST

Maybe RS magazine is finally realizing what hundreds of millions of Zeppelin fans long ago accepted as simple fact: Not The Stones, not The Beatles, but LED ZEPPELIN remain the greatest band in rock history.

wilks | 12/12/2007, 10:33 pm EST

Bonzo is in heaven smiling. Jason made him proud, even if he had a double bass pedal. No-one will ever match him, and his son respected him enough not to try. N-n-n-n-n-nobody’s fault.

wilks | 12/12/2007, 10:27 pm EST

Stop whining about the set list. How do you fit 10 of the greatest albums of all time (yes all 10 contained groundbreaking music) into 2 hrs? Despite all the songs I wanted to hear, I have never left a show feeling more satisfied. Buy the video when it comes out. I challenge you to get through Since I’ve benn loving you without breaking out in goosebumps. Still the greatest band ever.

Randy W. (DC) | 12/12/2007, 9:03 pm EST

D&C only 10-minutes? I read yesterday that it was a 26-minute version. Either way, I’m glad they did it. (I may be in the minority but I personally wouldn’t mind if they dropped STH altogether.)Sure hope they do tour. They owe it to the fans and they are the ONLY band who could give the Stones a run for their money with respect to a large scale outing. Just hope they’ll do a new album to keep it real. I have no doubt they can pull off another classic release! Although the Stones are my own particular all-time favorite band, I have to admit that Keith was not always in top form on this last tour. (Frequently hitting wrong notes and blowing classic riffs repeatedly, like the intro to Brown Sugar.) Anyway, maybe Zep getting back in the game will force them to bring it all back up to form. I’m so glad to hear all of the wonderful comments about Jason’s playing. Now that he’s 41, he seems perfectly in place with the older guys. The only possible downside is that I can’t imagine them pulling off a major tour without getting caught up in all of the corporate crap like the Stones have done. Anyway, I do think a tour is inevitable.

STEWBALL | 12/12/2007, 6:47 pm EST

You know what they say after Zep IV; Ozzy went onto do better drugs and Led Zeppelin went onto write better music!!!!

Magical 9th Hat | 12/12/2007, 2:33 pm EST

Zeppelin always had that “Fuck the Establishment/Mainstream” attitude so we’ll hope they won’t become commercialized. And yes Porcupine Tree is an amazing band, probably my favorite at the moment. Steven Wilson’s lyrics are always thought provoking, interesting, and intelligent.

GrandPa Rocks | 12/12/2007, 1:53 pm EST

Great to know that the Zeppelin has left the ground once again. I just hope it doesn’t turn into a corporate Zeppelin like The Rolling Corporate Stones. For those Floyd/Zeppelin fans if you want to see one the best underground bands today who happen to be on Atlantic Records and probably the heaviest band Atlantic has sign since Led Zeppelin. Check out Porcupine Tree.

Steve Smith | 12/12/2007, 10:05 am EST

Poser and the plagiarist!

Mike | 12/12/2007, 9:29 am EST

The Stones are legendary, but they ain’t no Zeppelin. The Stones have ’stones’, but Zeppelin had/has TALENT. There’s a difference.

Mike

belly | 12/12/2007, 2:52 am EST

hey this is about zeppelin .. watch Good Times Bad Times on youtube.. itll blow ya fuckin brains

dont be hating on the Stones and the Floyd btw they rock as much as the zepp in thir OWN FIELDS

Zepp did their own thing from hard rock to the most poingant ballads ever (Rain Song)

the Stones made rock and roll anthems (satisfaction) while keeping to the RnR roots

The Floyd were the most original band anyone had heard of at the time and stand as possibily the most unique band ever.. noone says theyre competitors

thats my say anyway

Dan | 12/11/2007, 10:57 pm EST

set list is what you would have gotten fall of 80.
in my time…. plant refused to play after his kid died in a car crash. would love to know why that made the set
stones rock… seen it
to see zeppelin It would/ WILL be a relgious pligrimage for me. not for the stars but for music…

Who gives a rats ass about Pink Floyd. This is the mighty Led Zepelin for christ sake. It is unbelievable that they even got back together at all. I hope they tour. Robert Plant still has an awesome voice after all these years.

John the Baptist | 12/11/2007, 5:41 pm EST

How Many More Times is one of their greatest live songs, and In the Light would be swell too… perhaps on the possible tour? lol

Titus | 12/11/2007, 4:51 pm EST

Achilles Last Stand is my fav, but at least they did No Quarter.

Anonymous | 12/11/2007, 3:56 pm EST

For those of you saying you are disappointed with the setlist.. first of all… this is an EPIC event… be glad this even happened. Those are my words… but I think Robert Plant addressed it even better… during this very show as a matter of fact:
“”It’s quite peculiar to imagine … to think about creating a dynamic evening choosing from 10 different albums. There are certain songs that have to be there, and this is one of them,” Plant said in introducing “Dazed and Confused.”"

Mule | 12/11/2007, 10:20 am EST

Damn, I can’t believe people are pissing over the setlist!! Y’all are looking a gift horse right in the mouth!! Thank God they got back together - even for this one show - and ROCKED! That’s all that matters.

Big C | 12/11/2007, 10:08 am EST

Hey, though….I’m just glad to hear that they played the deeper cut “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”. I can only imagine how the “competition” b/w Page’s guitar and Plant’s harmonica ensued. Was Plant able to compete? I’m curious. Other final thoughts, not to be negative by all means (I think LZ is the greatest band of all time): They should have replaced “For Your Life” and “Trampled Underfoot” w/ “Over the Hills and Far Away” and “Heartbreaker”. The versions of both of these songs on “How the West Was Won” are phenomenal to say the least, and they blow the hell out of the album versions (completely different songs in my opinion). Sorry, not to be living in the old days, but I just can’t help it.

Isaac | 12/11/2007, 9:42 am EST

Great setlist but missing what to me made Zep great in the first place Led Zeppelin III how come nothing off this great album an acoustic section is my fave part on the Zep DVD we already know they can blow every band out of the water but they were also great acoustic espicaly John Paul Jone. Still I wish I was there and still a good set list.

Peace
Isaac

Brian | 12/11/2007, 9:35 am EST

Wicked list. Finally a band with some BALLS.

SVUF | 12/11/2007, 9:27 am EST

Here’s to you LED ZEPPELIN!!! Finally something really worth talking about!! To be honest the music of today sucks; the last modern band I thought and still do is good is A Perfect Circle. It’s time for LED ZEPPELIN to resuscitate the music scene!!
If they ever come to the states and I hope they do, my brother in-law and I will definitely be there to one of their concerts!! What a extra Christmas gift this year…the reunion of LED ZEPPELIN!!

Big C | 12/11/2007, 9:15 am EST

I’m surprised no one has mentioned “Over the Hills and Far Away”. This, by far, is one of Zeps best songs. Has anyone heard the version played on the “How the West Was One?” collection? C’mooooon!!!! I’m disappointed in you all!

bill | 12/11/2007, 9:10 am EST

Does this mean the end of LEZ Zeppelin?

Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, John Bonham and his son Jason Bonham are GODS.
Led Zeppelin IS and always will be the GREATEST rock n’roll band in the World.

js | 12/11/2007, 3:04 am EST

glad they got back together and hope they tour the states, but i rather see Pink Floyd…

FRANK----Los angeles | 12/11/2007, 1:45 am EST

face the facts: no one knocks & rocks—–like the mighty LED ZEPPELIN—Robert Plant, greatest rock voice/Jimmy Page, meanest guitar licks/John Paul Jones, most underated bass player ever/& John Henry Bonham, most powerful time-keeper who smashed those drums while powering that foot drum

Anonymous | 12/10/2007, 10:49 pm EST

NotMozart | 12/10/2007, 10:22 pm EST

oh my god, who gives a f*ck about Panic at the Disco. Why can’t every band do their own thing without their rabid fans hating on all the others. I don’t give a damn what you think about Led Zeppelin, the fact that they got back together and played tonight was cool, no matter if you like Emo, Rap, Rock, Country or whatever. Listen to your music and enjoy it and keep your hating to yourself.

Mack | 12/10/2007, 10:10 pm EST

Zep has it’s legions and their reunion, if only for one concert, is momentous. We all have our favourites. I saw the Stones before most of you were born, when they were a tight band. Now-a-days Stones fans act like Jimmy Buffet fans. I don’t get it. Gimme Shelter.

Go figure | 12/10/2007, 9:42 pm EST

I was watching the movie “Rock Star” and I saw that Jason Bonham had two bass drums set up. I kinda freaked and had to do some research by buzzing through some internet links. Turns out that bass drum set up was just for the flick.

Papa Bonham would most certainly have come back from the dead and smacked his son around if he was using double bass to play his world class bass licks!!!

just beautiful! can’t believe they didn’t play immigrant song though:(

Ardie of Edmonton | 12/10/2007, 9:27 pm EST

Based from what we read so far, the gig lived up to what most of us expected, it became the ultimate reunion of the year.

RP | 12/10/2007, 9:14 pm EST

It’s amazing to see zeppelin on stage together. Being a huge zeppelin fan and being in my early 20’s, i never thought that i would see the band perform. i thought i would only be able to watch dvd’s and shotty youtube videos. But now, to see the pictures of the performance in London, it makes you kind of get a sense that perhaps rock music is back, for that last jolt. Not to say that zeppelin is going to be like they were in 68′ or 72′ - but with all of the boy bands and the miserable corporate ballads, its nice to see that rock and roll can still perform. And people, hundreds of thousands of people want to see it in person. I remember telling my friends two summers ago that if zeppelin would tour, I would be there… unfortunately i could not get a ticket, and my student loans were not generous enough to visit london. BUT this summer i will be studying abroad in london, and if they tour, i will be there. Because it’s not everyday that you see a set list that is that explosive… “no quarter” then right into “since i’ve been loving you.” i mean this is bliss for a music lover. I’ve read that Page says that he has been working on some stuff over the years and its as good as anything he’s done. Maybe rock will be back for one more show, we can only hope.

Kristy | 12/10/2007, 9:08 pm EST

Oh yay. How EXCITING! There’s nothing like bloated rock stars playing to the celebrity crowd and idle rich all in the name of “education’ is there? This is testament to nothing more than the recylced crap they pulled off over 12 years ago only this time somebody remembered John Paul Jones phone number and a charitable cause to fly the flag of mediocrity under.

Zep were/are nothing more than the world most clever con artist and the fucking blueprint for every soul-sucking spandex-sporting carbon copy clone 80’s act that was to follow. Of course, every two-bit hack and white trash stoner will eat this shit up. Yeah, some reunion.

Led zep fan | 12/10/2007, 8:44 pm EST

No communication breakdown?????

Oh well.
I wish i could have been there. Must have been an amazing show. Good times bad times would be an awesome opener.

Pink Floyd/Waters, another example of what ruined RnR in the 70’s. B/c of them we had to withstand the likes of Yes, ELP, Genesis (all of which you probably luvwaters). Just took themselves to seriously. That is not what RnR is about. It should be ragged!!

Still, RW and crew need to bury the hatchet too. They were also pretty good at what they did.

I am more upset w/ the aftermath of band like this. Metallica sucks. They probably worshipped Led Zep. Dream Theater sucks, they probably idolized Pink Floyd.

Jersey Boy, Rolling Stone is still back peddling on their reviews and treatment of Zeppelin as is many other music publications. It just takes some people longer than others to come around. As for the Stones, they are fantastic. Saw them at the beginning of the Bigger Bang tour. Blew me away. This was before Ronnie fell back off the wagon, (and got back on thank god). However, Zeppelin is a band that decimates other bands. They crush other groups, not just with their volume and virtousity, but also with their diversity and sheer confidence. To quote Plant, “there was no competition”. This was/is a band that is accessible to all and intimidating to many.

I’ll settle this! Roger Waters is better than the Stones and Zep combined, and he doesn’t even need the original backing band - just the BEST set of tunes ever written!

Mack and SIBLY, sorry to rain on your parade. Listen LZ is a great band, but I agree w/ RS’s review of the first album. It’s show-off music, where’s the wit? No Quarter is a perfect example of what is bad about them–such a drone of a song, yet that was getting as much requests by the fans as anything else for this reunion. Can’t exactly drink a beer to that song.

SIBLY | 12/10/2007, 7:51 pm EST

The Stones can’t touch Zeppelin’s jock strap. They couldn’t back in the day, and certainly couldn’t now.

Mack | 12/10/2007, 7:50 pm EST

Hey Jersey Boy, the Stones haven’t done a decent album since “Exile” and that was over rated. Get a life. Enjoy music no matter who’s it is. Being a hater is being a loser. Zep rules.

Been following blogs all day on this show. Set list is what it is…classic! I’m sure we will see more of Zep. Either on tour or DVD of this show, or both. Hopefully they do the right thing and continue to donate proceed to charity. LONG LIVE THE DINOSAUR THAT IS LED ZEPPELIN!

Very happy to know that they played ” Trampled” and “In my time of”; please play “Moby Dick”, “Immigrant Song”, “Communication Breakdown” for the U.S.Tour!!

JerseyBoy | 12/10/2007, 7:22 pm EST

Led Zep is overrated. Stones have been doing this for years and their new tours are still more exciting than this. We are so much luckier to have the Stones carrying on for this long. If they had stopped and came back like this, it would have sent the world spinning in the opposite direction. Still, Led Zep should tour and put out some new music. They are pretty good and what they do.

Fantastic! I’ve been following the song-by-song blog on NME.com…and this was a treat of a setlist! Welcome back boys, even if for just one night!!

Lord Byron | 12/10/2007, 6:32 pm EST

Disappointed that they didn’t perform Achilles Last Stand. Hard to believe they performed D&C! (albeit only about a 10 minute rendition). Also disappointed they didn’t perform Ten Years Gone…..
