the Rolling Stone board is the only place were early 90’s greats & now complete has-beens Pearl Jam (for a standard poorly sold live album?) and Eddie Vedder solo (yawn) get this many votes.As well as the mainstreamed dad-grunge bores the Foo Fighters (my 50-something father is a fan)

My pick for Best Album of 2007 is “Year Zero” by Nine Inch Nails.A band that still offers something new and fresh,and not afraid to experiment.And more important,Trent Reznor still has something to say that is relevant to today’s world.

“Easy Tiger” is a solid album, but not quite Adams’ best.

Disappointed that the new Counting Crows disc won’t be released until early next year.

It may not be the best album of the year but I seem to have listened to R.Kelly’s “Double Up”

Kayne’s album cover must be one of the most ridiculous things i’ve ever seen. it look like the packaging for a toy for that my eight year niece would play with.

Bruce is always a safe pick because of his greatness but Rocco’s pick is ‘Raising Sand’ by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss. I bought it out of curiosity and was rewarded with a truly special album. It ain’t rock and roll but it’s very cool.

1) Radiohead – In Rainbows (the ONLY band good enough to rival Radiohead today, is Pearl Jam – & PJ’s last studio album was the best album of 2006. Nice to have the best 2 bands of the 90’s still around)

2) Eddie Vedder – Into The Wild (better than bruce springsteen’s “magic” – admit it, it really is.

3) Arcade Fire – Neon Bible (pretty good, not great)

4) Nine Inch Nails – Year Zero (the worst nin album since pretty hate machine)

5) Bruce Springsteen – Magic (a few really good songs, RS was a bit mad when they gave this 5 stars – which almost no one agrees with.

& Neon Bible is a hell of a lot better than Icky Thump… Could the White Stripes be any more overrated? There’s almost no substance in Jack White’s songwriting.

How about that piece of shit record Bach put out? I think it was titled “I love Axl.”

Anyone else notice that were no votes for Britney Spears until 4:30 today, and from 5:30 on there’s been around one every minute or so? Obviously this is someone trying to be clever (or just a really huge Britney fan, for shame) but I hope it’s no one friends with/related to/working for Ms. Spears, cause even for her that’d be ridiculous and sad.

Finally, I don’t think ANYONE here mentioned Gogol Bordello’s Super Taranta!, and it is from 2007. Not this year’s best but I think a case could be made for top 10.

My personal favorite album of the year has to be “Blackout” hands down. It’s a pop gem to the core and better than any other release this year in my opinion.
