Breaking Artist: The Rumble Strips

12/5/07, 3:47 pm EST

Click here to be instantly transported to our Breaking Blog, where you can read up on souful Brit-pop quintet the Rumble Strips, a band (with a horn section) who originally bonded over Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits while growing up in a tiny English town, but soon developed a taste for reggae, ska, rockabilly and harmonies. Check out the video for the group’s “Alarm Clock” and get a little insight into everyguy frontman Charlie Waller’s Jonathan Richman-inspired lyrics.

You know I haven’t heard anything by Rumble Strips and have no idea what they sound like, but going by that picture alone I would probably think that they must suck.

Look like the guys in Deliverance.

But more importantly, what’s with these new pop up ads that completely block out the Comments? I know you’ve gotta pay the bills, but don’t fuck up a good thing!!! Most people don’t have anything good to say about this blog, but frankly, it’s a pretty great place to get our opinions on music out. Don’t let the corporate whores completely gut this place! thanks

I got the album. It really sucks. They are not ska. They are not reggae. More like The Killers with horns. More crap. Why dont you guys check out good bands like Streetlight Manifesto?

How in the hell did you get suckered into buying the record, dude?
