When we caught up with Queens of the Stone Age in October, the band promised they’d be heading 2,300 feet underground to play a set in a German salt mine (insert joke about “underground rock” and/or “rocking hard” here). The group is prepping a longer film of their late-November experience, but they’ve put together a quick teaser clip for now which shows that Josh Homme’s cigarette habit doesn”t break for subterranean gigs. Our favorite part? When the camera pans out and there’s nothing but hard hats visible in the crowd.

are the writers of this magazine incapable or too lazy to provide its patrons with a slice of humour now and again; or must we always insert our own jokes?

Wes: Dude, if I could insert my own joke, I wouldn’t be here typing this.
