Van Halen Announce More 2008 Tour Dates, Return Visit to NY

11/27/07, 11:36 am EST

With David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen somehow co-existing peacefully thus far, the sorta-reunited Van Halen will see if their luck can extend into next year as the band has announced more 2008 tour dates. After the band plays their current tour-ending gig in Las Vegas on December 30th, the quartet will reconvene January 22nd in Oklahoma City for another leg that will see them performing until March 30th. Diamond Dave better stock up on the spandex. The band will play a trio of shows in Texas before heading back east — by way of a concert in Sunrise, Florida — to perform another show at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on March 17th. We’re hoping Wolfgang Van Halen has a tutor that travels with the band, as he’s officially missing a lot of school. Full 2008 tour dates after the jump …

Van Halen 2008 tour dates:

Jan. 22 – Oklahoma City, OK (Ford Center)
Jan. 24 – San Antonio, TX (AT&T Center)
Jan. 26 – Dallas, TX (American Airlines Center)
Jan. 28 – Houston, TX (Toyota Center)
Feb. 4 – Omaha, NE (Qwest Center Omaha)
Feb. 8 – New Orleans, LA (New Orleans Arena)

it is very hard to understand the attraction here. van halen has sucked for at least 20 years, despite the band arangements. why would anyone with half a brain shell out cash for this clown show?

egg salad | 11/27/2007, 12:07 pm EST

coming up next, on a very special episode of ” Who Gives a Fuck”…

Actually, They are still liked by a lot of people that enjoy good music.

Wild Side | 11/27/2007, 1:21 pm EST

who cares what huh and eggsalad say. their opinions just lost all credibility after reading what they had to say.

Country Crotch | 11/27/2007, 1:23 pm EST

I don’t think that fat kid really cares if he’s missing school to do gigs for VH. He probably lost his virginity on this tour!

I agree with egg salad and huh? VH are so yesterday. The only losers that would be interested in seeing VH now are those who dwell on the past and have trouble accepting the status quo.

brian gallagher | 11/27/2007, 1:35 pm EST

Do you ever think how Wolfie feels after you call him the “fat kid”? You are a douche bag. He is living a dream with his father and uncle. You fuckin tool!!!

Dennis A. | 11/27/2007, 5:13 pm EST

Wow.. Country Crotch and Egg Salad need to find another picnic with the members of Fall Out Boy or something more androgynous.

This is one of the greatest bands in rock. You can say what you will, but they have what the new bands have (well, beside youth): Originality, great songs and style. Glad to see (most of) the band back out doing what they almost were too old to do. I’m impressed. I keep hearing how great the shows have been.

I would never accept a status quo,
especially if the status quo is lambasting a sect of a former status quo. Status quo? (rolls eyes)

I love Van Halen. Thought it was a great show, and can’t wait to see Battles, Patrick Wolf, Cornelius, Queens of The Stone Age, perform before I’m gone.

I just don’t think you’ll ever get it, crotch.

Saw the VH show in San Diego and it was very good….think about it egghead and others slamming this classic band….do you think any of today’s new ‘lousy, formulaic bands with no musicianship’ will be able to sellout 15,000 seat arenas in 20 years? Today’s music scene is terrible and the big labels are to blame. If it weren’t for U2 and a few others, I’d stop listening to the radio altogether.

GoodGodAmighty | 11/28/2007, 10:20 am EST

people who think time freezes are the dumbest of dumb-asses the rest of us have to contend with…just because some dickweed has learned to digitize his bowel movements in 2007 doesn’t negate what was done in 1977.
An artist creates a body of work and then represents that body of work for their own lifetime and in the case of the really great stuff, beyond.
Van Halen is some of the best rock ever created and that will go into the history books whether you accept it or not.
But wait, have you heard the really NEW WhatchaMeecallits???
I AM SOOOOO HIP.pshaw. ROCK ME.

God needs to work on his grammar!

Anyone who grew up with Van Halen and saw them with Roth in their prime should be stoked about this union. I’d sell my left nut to be where Wolfgang is right now…Next to two Legends, rockin out.
Van Halen was the sound of MY generation. The only people who diss Van Halen 2007 are the Spammy Hagar fans who can’t accept that he rode Roth’s coat-tails and never fit in his shoes. The music was good, it was all Edward. but Spammy lacked what Dave was rich in, character and personality.

Roth On!

Saw them in Phoenix a few weeks ago – they were amazing! Eddie is still a guitar God and David Lee Roth was his charismatic self! it was obvious that they were all enjoying each other – Van Halen rules!!!

DENIE SUE | 12/20/2007, 6:04 pm EST

I cannot wait till this band makes another cd with DLR. I know this will never happen, but imagine Sammy and Dave on a new cd. Michael Anthony is missed but as Dave says…3/4 original 1/4 inevitible. Pretty damn cool!
