11/27/07, 4:51 pm EST

Care to refine your guesses (which ranged from Duran Duran to the Hives to Led Zep)? We’ll be revealing the next issue with an excerpt of the cover story tomorrow morning.

I don’t think it’s Zeppelin because it seems to be just one person (unless it’s just Page, which would seem odd in the context of a reunion).

hockeyfrog | 11/27/2007, 4:58 pm EST

I’m guessing.. Gene Simmons.

Hey | 11/27/2007, 5:05 pm EST

Hey Rolling Stone -

Why don’t you update your cover archive for 2007.

Also update 1997 – The Chris Rock cover is missing.

kilgoretuna | 11/27/2007, 5:12 pm EST

It’s the Boss. Springstein is the only 5 star review of this year so far and we are in the twilight of the year.

Corey | 11/27/2007, 5:12 pm EST

I’m going with Don Henley.

Shompson | 11/27/2007, 5:14 pm EST

this is the worst hint ever. dio

Vomit Man | 11/27/2007, 5:30 pm EST

It’s gotta be somebody old judging by the wrinkly, aged hand there. So I’m guessing Robert Plant, Jimmy Paige, or Neil Young.

TM | 11/27/2007, 5:30 pm EST

It is Jimmy. There’s a photo on Ross Haflin’s site of Jimmy and he’s wearing the same scarf from the previous hint.

Stephen | 11/27/2007, 5:38 pm EST

Slash

Bunny | 11/27/2007, 5:40 pm EST

I totally thought Gene Simmons too…buy it probably is Led Zeppelin. Watch, we’re all wrong and it will be somebody like Slash only they are all dressed up to fool us. Who the hell knows.

Anonymous | 11/27/2007, 5:52 pm EST

Guessing from the neckerchief, its either a british guy or a gay guy…

Anonymous | 11/27/2007, 6:09 pm EST

And considering RS showed us a finger, im going to say its Jimmy (british guy of course)…maybe i was right

Jake | 11/27/2007, 6:43 pm EST

It’s Jimmy Page, and the finger he’s pointing is the one he broke that postponed the show.

hopefullyIMwrong | 11/27/2007, 7:10 pm EST

This better not be Barry Manilow. I know that Hallmark CD is blowing off the shelves, but save that coveted RS cover space for Maroon 5 and the Jonas Brothers.

nathan | 11/27/2007, 7:52 pm EST

Joran Van Der Sloot.

Dave | 11/27/2007, 7:58 pm EST

John C. Reilly as “Dewey Cox?”

infected | 11/27/2007, 7:59 pm EST

maybe robert plant? haven’t seen much of a profile on him lately

nessie | 11/27/2007, 8:40 pm EST

Bono and/or U2
a wild guess

the bix | 11/27/2007, 9:32 pm EST

It’s Bob Dylan.

Anonymous | 11/27/2007, 9:39 pm EST

i only know it’s some old guy in a suit

Jennifer | 11/27/2007, 10:14 pm EST

It’s Hugh Laurie from House, no doubt

DaftPunkarethefutureofmusic | 11/27/2007, 11:20 pm EST

It is either Gene SImmons or Jimmy Page. If it is then i think that in this issue Jimmy will annouce the Led Zep tour in 2008. I can hear the choir of angels now

Davie Buk Boyd | 11/27/2007, 11:23 pm EST

Its robert plant, he has been seen with that same ring before. Plus Rolling Stone would be idiots not to have Zeppelin on their cover when next month Zeppeling are playing the most inticipated cncert of all time

ChiliPepper | 11/28/2007, 12:28 am EST

Zeppelin…The ring gives it away, Plant wears that on his right hand. I’m pretty sure it’s his wedding ring.

countryfeedback | 11/28/2007, 3:14 am EST

according to rolling stone: wrinkles are very rock and roll.

Annonymous | 11/28/2007, 8:21 am EST

Jimmy Page!

HOTS ON FOR NOWHERE | 11/28/2007, 9:50 am EST

IT’S JIMMY PAGE. PERIOD.

Cheesecrop | 11/28/2007, 12:05 pm EST

The neckerchief from the last one covered the bite mark where Dracula bit the victim. Clearly, the person pointing has found the mark and recommends garlic around the neck next time.

Joe | 11/28/2007, 12:19 pm EST

Once again, RS, you give it away with your ad on the bottom of the “page”. BWA HA HA HA

The finger and snazzy kerchief belong to Robert Plant, and all three members are on the cover.

Anonymous | 11/28/2007, 1:12 pm EST

Folks. RS does this everytime. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

theteacher | 11/28/2007, 1:45 pm EST

it’s Jack Nicolson. Look at the hands they’re old

theteacher | 11/28/2007, 1:48 pm EST

Jack Nicholson.just look at the hands.

Led Zep | 11/28/2007, 2:29 pm EST

Well, I suppose after seeing the cover on the main page, then scrolling down here and seeing it, and.. I don’t know if this happened to anyone else, but clicking news brought up a huge picture of the cover and the page was all fucked up. So after all of that it has to be gene simmons! NOT

“Folks. RS does this everytime. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.”

It’s set up that way to weed out the cheaters.

incredulous | 11/28/2007, 3:35 pm EST

I am amazed how so many people can think they are clever for seeing an ad at the bottom of the page and think RS messed up. Look at the date this teaser was posted, and the date of the first person to claim ‘lolz rs mest uP hurrrr!!!’. Notice anything?

Dana Doll | 11/29/2007, 9:25 am EST

moody, moody. “incredulous” needs a ticket punch!!!
