Admittedly, I’m not a Dylan fan. But I was still into seeing the movie… But I have to say, just looking at the clips with Kate Blanchet, who is a GREAT actress, just make me giggle and and say “Look at Kate Blanchet trying to act like a guy that looks like Dylan..” Not really into it.

Just sayin’.

but dennis, isnt that what acting is all about?

don’t understand the little boy’s role

Well, yes.. but it should be convincing, not distracting… And in this instance, maybe a little funny, too.

Again, that’s just me. Curious if anyone else feels the same way.

Dylan in the greatest artist of the 20th century…and he will always be remembered. No one can pigeonhole him no matter how hard they try. This movie will be forgotten, but Dylan never will be.

God, I’m sorry. There’s a million male actors in Hollywood, why do they need to do something so freaky? I don’t care how good an actress she is; give me a break! I wonder how Dylan feels about it?

And by the way, RRD, I’m not a cowboy; I’m a suburban goddess!

You could start by writing Blanchett’s name correctly…

What a clever technique in defining an un-definable icon.
Which begs the question, Aren’t all people really more than they appear, and something other than we believe we are?
Great art!

This movie looks as though it’s going to be amazing. I was in the back of a car today and it passed a theatre that read in lights, “I’m Not There: Bob Dylan”. I wanted to hop right out and head inside, but we can’t always do what we want.

I wanted to see this movie for a year, but to be honest I didnt think it was that great. Of course people will say its great because thats what you’re “supposed” to say, but in my opinion it was slow, disjointed, and just not very enjoyable. I really wanted to like it, and I commend Haynes’ vision it jsut didnt work for me.

Rita: “Blanchett”. Okay… yep, its still funny.

Jared: Thanks. That’s what I figured.

i’ve also wanted to see this movie for a year and i thought it was phenomenal. of course, people will say it was absurd and ridiculous, because that’s so easy when it’s getting so much good press. sorry for the jab, just figured i’d point that out haha… i do understand why people wouldn’t like this movie, it’s not for everyone. personally, though, i thought it was absolutely brilliant, one of my all-time favorites

everybody must get stoned

MrTambourineman | 11/27/2007, 3:55 pm EST

I thought it was a pretty incredible film. My only squabbles were when they used Dylan songs as lines of dialogue, it felt too cheesy and forced for such an ambitious project.

I was totally disappointed. Cheap shots at views of women…everything was mis-represented.. god what he did for Woody wa missed entirely…and what happened to the last 20 years,,, some of the most important…long side stories of journeys into religious expression (an unforgiving ending at a Pentacostal moment that for the eternity driven by the film, became a crusade [which wasn't true]). the whole effect was to diminish his genius,,, this was a political opinion, not a film
