I saw him live and it was dreadful. It was actually impossible to know which of his songs he was siging. The music was vile- generic, characterless pub-rock.

People need to understand that Dylan was in his 50’s in that video and was way past his prime. Listen to him perform “Masters of War” in the 60’s and you’ll understand his greatness.

Amy Winehouse on the other hand is just not very talented. Dylan will be remembered for all time and she’ll be forgotten in a year or two.

Amy is cool,with a great voice, too bad she’s usually wasted!

I just can’t believe how she can destroy herself so publically. I’ve seen her so fucked up in interviews, I cringe. I think we all recognize how talented she is, but how lasting can she really be if she does this to herself so willingly?

Dylan had a weird arrangement like probably nobody else’s of Masters of War. The hard part to understand was the last word of each line. I don’t think “woozy & bored”‘ apply at all.

I could understand none of the words of the verses of “Back to Black”, only the choruses. I’ve seen this happen at Dylan shows, too, but Amy’s performance was the worst of the two presented here.

In Dylan’s defense, I think it was more a matter of sound mixing, than slurring, here.

Dylan’s is only about 20% worse than when he’s sober, whereas Winehouse’s is a trainwreck by any reasonable standards. I say she “wins.”

I remember being at a dylan concert and I could not understand a damn thing he was saying. But I was watching in awe.

Bob Dylan can sing but he is not consistent. He is a great poet and singer… people from every generation should appreciate his work.

Amy Winehouse is so talented, I hope she gets her life together b/c I would hate for her to have a career like her idol Lauryn Hill.

Yes Lauryn Hill is a great poet and singer (the greatest artist of our generation) but she doesn’t have much to show for it with only 2 great albums.

bob dylan is not only one of the best poets, and songwriters, he is also a phenomenal singer - he may not have the clearest voice but when it comes to phrasing, the articulation and ennunciation of specific words and articles, he is a master on par with few singers.

not only that, but i’m sure that those who are mocking dylan are probably guilty of listening to something that most likely would not exist without dylan.

take off your blinders and listen to the right albums by dylan and you will find something which speaks to your sensibilities, otherwise you are living a life that isn’t complete.

dylan is singing a song that, with its vicious indictment of the military industrial complex, sadly, has a timeless quality to it.

I’ve been to Dylan’s live shows twice in last two decades and it was always disappointing. Last year, I even hardly understood the song he played. Rolling Stone should upload Dylan’s early performance like before his motocycle accident.
