Led Zeppelin Announce XM Radio Station, Avril Lavigne Plans Spring Tour, T.I. Asks for the Right to Serve Turkey

  • Led Zeppelin is set to go extraterrestrial: The band’s own station on XM satellite radio, “XM LED,” will premiere November 8th (tomorrow) with the debut of the remastered The Song Remains the Same soundtrack, featuring previously unreleased material and interviews. The station is expected to air until May 8th, 2008.
  • Avril Lavigne has announced her spring North American tour, which kicks off March 5th in Victoria, British Columbia, before working its way south to cover all major US cities. Moms across the nation are already lining up outside Ticketmasters to avoid another Hannah Montana scandal.
  • Rob Zombie is a busy man. While he jets across the nation as part of Ozzy Osbourne’s tour, he is also planning a DVD to accompany Zombie Live. The director side of Zombie has multiple projects as well, including a “100 percent” finished animated film called The Haunted World of El Superbeasto and a possible remake of shlock-horror classic C.H.U.D.. Plus, he’s working on the much-anticipated White Zombie box set.
  • As we expected, the EMI-created, three-version Radiohead box set that comes out December 10th is being released without the permission of the band. And while sixty-two percent of people who downloaded In Rainbows didn’t pay, the band’s previous catalog has experienced a 35 percent sales jump since Radiohead decided to give away their new album.
  • T.I., who’s under house arrest for a whole bunch of gun charges, has filed a motion to have a Thanksgiving celebration at his mansion/prison.
