Click here to check out a selection of incredible illustrated tour posters for Pearl Jam from the late Nineties to today. The images are taken from Pearl Jam vs. Ames Bros: Thirteen Years of Tour Posters, which tracks the band’s history via poster art by Barry Ament, Coby Schultz and Brad Klausen. The new book, which features 229 posters, also includes commentary from Pearl Jam and the artists, and a ton of other goodies.

this is a side of rock music that is all easily ignored, the posters that they put out are as great as their music. this is the most important rock band of our time, my fav is sydney 98 poster.i was hoping this would be produced one day, really looking forward to getting a copy.

I really hope they Ames Bros include the images they ripped off of other artists, like this E. McKnight Kauffer illustration: http://www.gigposters.com/comm ents/65287_Pearl_Jam.html

Sad ly this is not the first time this has happened. At least they are consistent.

It’s discouraging to hear news that some of PJ’s poster designs “could have been” ripped off, but I’ll give the benefit of the doubt. On rare occasion, designers can unknowingly and unintentionally come up with a similar idea as somebody else. It’s really no different than the challenges which sometimes arise for music artists. Everything under the sun has been done. To be original is not to reinvent the wheel, but to present an idea or concept in a new and unique way. What is unique about Pearl Jam’s concert posters is that each one is specifically designed for each concert date, and I believe that most of them are available only in “limited edition” print.
