Killers Clip With Lou Reed Hits the Web, 50 Cent Opts to Not Quit the Music Biz, Sheryl Crow Album Due in February

11/5/07, 3:29 pm EST

  • The video for “Tranquilize,” the Killers/Lou Reed collaboration from the former’s upcoming B-sides collection Sawdust, demonstrates what happens when a band records new music after listening to Reed’s Berlin quite often. Reed’s voice features prominently, at times drowning out Brandon Flowers, who sports a massive Brawny moustache and cavorts around a dark and dusty classroom with a mirror.
  • According to a BBC DJ, Radiohead will host their first Webcast in five years on BBC 6Music this Friday to chat, play tunes and maybe play some of their own (new?) music. Over in the States, to mark tomorrow’s release of American Gangster, Jay-Z will commandeer Sirius Radio for this entire week, hosting the show “Jay-Z Nation” on the satellite radio provider’s Hip-Hop Nation channel.
  • 50 Cent is reneging on his promise to quit the music industry if Curtis fell to Kanye West’s Graduation on the day of their Big Tuesday match-up. 50 cites a technicality for not going into retirement, saying Curtis “was the number one European album!” Saved by the Belarus.
  • Sheryl Crow will release her new album, Detours, on February 5th. Like Kelly Clarkson, Jewel and Jessica Simpson plan to do, Crow hunkered down in Nashville to record the record, which documents her struggle with breast cancer and her break-up with bicyclist Lance Armstrong.

I’m not. Curtis has no integrity, so naturally he wouldn’t honor his own word unless it suited him.

Lou Reed sings clearly on two parts of the song, and the rest is Brandon Flowers or them both together. What I think would be an interesting thing to do, would be for Rolling Stone to review this record and not talk about what people look like rather than talk about the song.

I think the Tranquilize video is perfect for the Killers/Lou Reed song. Brilliant!

The Killers video for “Tranquilize,” is pretty cool and the song is pretty good as well, it sounds very Sam’s Town-y, which is awesome, becasue that was a fantastic record. I can’t wait for “Sawdust” to be released. I am especially excited for the remix of “Mr. Brightside.”

Oh, and of course 50 Cent wouldn’t retire. He just made that statment in the first place to try and sell more records, basically begging fans to buy his record. He is pathetic.

Woman lie, Men lie and 50 doesnt.

50s got a point, it’s all about numbers. Universal group stated on their website that 50 outsold Kanye world wide on week 1.

50 wins again, haters fall back
