Axl Rose Is “Back in the Saddle,” Back On Our Stereos

10/30/07, 10:55 am EST

Continuing with national radio’s habit of leaking new music, last week a Texas rock station played Sebastian Bach and Axl Rose’s version of Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle,” one of three Bach/Rose collaborations we told you about in August that appear on Bach’s November 20th’s LP Angel Down. “Saddle” instantly became the station’s most requested track, as well as the victim of numerous radio rips (like this one). More than anything, the song acts as a public-service announcement, proclaiming the Guns N’ Roses leader is alive and his voice is very, very well as he takes over the song — a tough task considering Bach delivers strong with full Celebrity Rap Superstar intensity. Rose adds vocal embellishes to another leaked tune, Bach-dominated post-grunge track “Stuck Inside,” making us anticipate that one day when Chinese Democracy stops teasing us and finally sees release.

Axl does steal “Back In the Saddle” with his bluesy, raspy vocals. I think they’re a better fit for an Aerosmith song than Baz’s voice, though I love Baz.

“Stuck Inside” is a damn good song and Axl’s screams on that song are just killer. It’s so good to hear Axl on a new recording just cutting that scream loose!

Slash is responsible of these leaks. Slash is so bad. Slash is responsible of everything bad on earth, Slash is responsible of 9/11.

Oh, and the fans are stupid idiots!

Retire old man, this is beyond embarrasing. Worse yet, it reminds us all just how great the real GNR used to be before you royally pissed all over it. Cock!

I can’t wait to hear “Love Is A Bitchslap”. If it’s anything like the first two tracks, it will rock. Oh yeah, very mature post Brighton, Rob.

I bought the cd of Sebastian with Axl on it last week, they both sound like they never left the studio…very good. I was wondering when Sebastian would get back in the groove, as for Axl…”Get off your butt and make some music” been waiting for years for a new album.
