Peter Travers Video Review: “30 Days of Night,” “Gone Baby Gone,” “Rendition”

10/18/07, 6:52 pm EST

Torture film Rendition has an impressive cast but is painful to watch, says Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers. He predicts vampire flick 30 Days of Night will take number one at the box office, but notes that Josh Hartnett is scary to watch. Kidnapping drama Gone Baby Gone, however, by Mystic River’s writer, and director Ben Affleck, really works. Of course he hates 30 Days | 10/19/2007, 10:52 pm EST

Pete Travers hates any popcorn movie not staring Johny Depp or Russel Crowe! I don’t know if it’s man-love or what, but those two can make absolute garbage and Travers will love it! I haven’t seen these films yet, but I think the “feel bad” ‘Rendition’ is better than Travers allows it to be and 30 Days of Night is just going to to be blood splattered horror enjoyment! Yeah, Gone Baby Gone is likely excellent, but Popcorn and Reality have their place too!

Travers is a good writer but lousy without a script.
