
- Contrary to earlier reports, Def Jam denies Nas has a new album called Nigga coming out in December. In fact, the label denies Nas has a new album coming out at all. “There is no album release by Nas on the release schedule at this point,” Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid explains.
- Cat Power has finally revealed the tracklist for her second covers album, Jukebox, out January 22nd. Among the artists covered are Creedence Clearwater Revival (“Fortunate Son”), Bob Dylan (“I Believe In You”), James Brown (“Lost Someone”) and herself (“Metal Heart”).
- While Billboard has no way of evaluating Radiohead’s In Rainbows’ impact, Last.fm’s play count tracker, which puts into account iPod listens and unique listeners, shows that all ten of the album’s tracks comprised the top ten “most listened to” tracks during the week of October 14th, despite only being circulated for four of the seven days. Leading the way was opener “15 Step,” which 67,122 Last.fm listeners tuned in to.
- My Chemical Romance have just finished up a concert DVD that captures the band’s full The Black Parade performance in Mexico City, which was the last performance of the album live. The DVD is slated for release in early 2008.
