
- Despite taking pre-orders on their site for Radiohead’s In Rainbows, music retailer HMV, as well as Radiohead’s management, now deny that a physical CD of the new album will be released on December 3rd. HMV blamed the pre-order page, which also incorrectly claimed Parlaphone would distribute the album, on an “over-enthusiastic member of staff.” He’s so fired. The band’s management repeated that the CD will likely hit stores in 2008. As for a potential record label, Billboard says ATO Records is the current frontrunner in a race that includes Warner Bros. and EMI, which had been Radiohead’s home until 2005.
- After Malaysia’s strict dress code forced Beyoncé to cancel her concert debut in Kuala Lumpur, the former Destiny’s Child singer will not have to adhere to Indonesia’s similar dress code, despite that nation’s large Muslim population. “They realize it’s positive entertainment for the youth,” Beyoncé said.
- The first single to mark the return of the Spice Girls will be called “Headlines,” Ginger Spice told some British TV show called GMTV. The rumored release date of the new song is somewhere in the vicinity of November 19th.
- Oldest Hanson brother Isaac Hanson has undergone surgery after suffering from a pulmonary embolism. The band expect to resume their tour October 8th in Knoxville, TN.
- Modest Mouse has announced more concert dates as their tour to promote We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank sails on. Meanwhile on October 10th, Modest Mouse will begin premiering new videos from that album on their MySpace page. The remaining MM tour dates are after the jump.
