Led Zeppelin Ticket Update, Tom Morello Joins Serj Tankian Tour, Jimmy Buffett Sues Kids’ Club

10/1/07, 9:28 am EST

  • Organizers closed the Led Zeppelin ticket lottery less than two weeks ago with over one million entries, and today fans will find out if they’re eligible to buy tickets to the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert. Just 20,000 tickets are available for the event, which will be held at London’s O2 Arena on November 26th, and each seat costs $255.
  • Speaking of ticket lotteries, the Spice Girls have added two more London dates to their upcoming reunion tour after the first show sold out thirty-eight seconds after lottery winners received email notifications. Baby, Posh, Scary, Sporty and Ginger have also released the track listing for their upcoming greatest-hits album (read it after the jump).
  • Former Kid Rock sidekick Uncle Kracker pleaded guilty to charges of assault stemming from a North Carolina nightclub incident in August, and was sentenced to two month’s probation and a $1,500 fine, and ordered to undergo an alcohol assessment.
  • Jimmy Buffett is suing Six Flags, claiming the theme park’s “Carrothead Club” for Bugs Bunny’s younger fans infringes on Buffett’s famed “Parrothead” community, the NY Post reports. A park spokeswoman says, “I’m not sure how the concept of children in foam carrot hats is going to be confused with significantly older Hawaiian shirt-wearing, margarita-swilling Parrotheads. Clearly imitation wasn’t what we had in mind!”

Spice Girls’ Greatest Hits Track Listing:

1. “Wannabe”
2. “Say You’ll Be There”
3. “2 Become 1″
4. “Who Do You Think You Are”
5. “Mama”
6. “Spice Up Your Life”
7. “Too Much”
8. “Stop”
9. “Viva Forever”
10. “Goodbye”
11. “Holler”
12. “Let Love Lead the Way”
13. “Woman”
14. “The Lady”

My god Jimmy get a life, is your brain water logged from the New Orleans flood? Suing a theme park for kids wearing Carrot Heads who’s your lawyer Daffy Duck?

Moses Cotton | 10/1/2007, 9:55 am EST

I love Jimmy Buffett and Bugs Bunny. It looks like unintentionial flattery to me. Also, carrotheads could become the next generation of parrotheads. This may be a missed marketing opportunity.

Most Sincerely,
M. Cotton

Buffet’s a clown, always been a clown will always be a clown. The clowns seem to live longer than the rest of us.

Led Zeppelin. I think there’s a real chance that this could get a lot bigger. I know how musicians think, and I think that once they got on that stage, and everything’s cooking, and the fans are goin’ apeshit, they’re gonna wanna keep going.

They don’t have to have a breakneck tour schedules like the kids do. The kids are still trying to build an audience. Zeppelin are rock and royaity supreme! They can do it like the Stones’ do. Do a week of shows then take a week off. The circuits of dates can be close together. For instance, if Zeppelin wanted to play 10 shows at MSG in a row, they’ll sell out every night. They can then do 5 ro 6 over at Giants Stadium and sell out every night. Take a week off, come back and do Boston. That’s doable. I really believe when the band’s firing on all cylanders it’s going to be impossible, I think, to just do a one off.

“Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello’s side project, the Nightwatchman, will be opening for System of a Down’s Serj Tankian on Tankian’s upcoming headlining tour supporting his solo LP.”

Right up there with a Nickelback/Hinder/Flyleaf tour on a list on Concerts You Couldn’t Pay Me to See.

I dunno, the Floyd played to over a billion people, and that roar of the crowd didnt please Gilmour enough. Plant’s voice cant take a full tour!

MM | 10/1/2007, 1:20 pm EST

Him and Pagey did a full tour in 1994 and he didn’t have the voice then that he used to have. He doesn’t sing the same way anymore; he has a different style, now.

Page transposed some of the songs into an easier keys for Robert and it sounded fuckin’ great. He could do it!

Page and Plant aren’t Gilmour, now are they?

Where’s the Radiohead news? Or was this headline just baiting to get me to read the rest of the crap on here?

Rev Al Bum | 10/1/2007, 3:08 pm EST

MM | 10/1/2007, 8:53 pm EST

Peace.

Yves Seguin | 10/1/2007, 11:57 pm EST

I missed out on Page & Plant in 95 at the Montreal Forum damn! But had the opportunity to see Robert Plant & the Strange Sensation in 2005 it kind of made up for it. Robert’s voice was in good shape that night he put on a great performance.

I think he’ll do it again on November 26 2007

Hope I can make it there.

scull&roses | 10/2/2007, 5:16 pm EST

The Dead should sue dickhead Jimmy for stealing anything to do with heads. All the tours, books, and other claims in court didn’t make you rich enough.FUCK YOU!!!!!

ZEPPELIN, PLEASE DO A FULL BLOWN OUT TOUR…WE REALLY NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!

RHCPMOM | 10/7/2007, 10:06 pm EST

JB, you totally have your priorities out of WHACK. Either that or you’re getting some really bad legal advise. I can see how you would need to be concerned about “carrot heads” with you having one of the highest producing tours ever. Still curious about how people can pay year after year to hear the same boring music with attempts at new records that you can’t sell. Maybe you should give some of your multi-mill plus to needy children, you can find another way to get your Parrot Head name out there to do some good for children rather than waste time with this stunt….you have enough to share the wealth, not sue others to gain more. Karma . Met you years ago in WPB. I was just a kid then.

Ema | 10/16/2007, 11:49 am EST

TAZ | 10/29/2007, 10:14 am EST

I was delighted and also diappointed to see Led Zeppelin for the first time in Tampa Stadium, on June 4th, 1977. I had looked forward to this event since my graduation. But as FATE had it’s way, a major storm …well, you should know the words..UPON US ALL A LITTLE RAIN WILL FALL. I totally understand the circumstances of that evening, BUT seeing your band on stage for even fifteen minutes, was the highlight of my youth. Thank you , forever,TAZ (holz007007@aol.com)

Mike | 11/23/2007, 12:05 am EST

Taz,
If the Zeppelin concert in Tampa was the highlight of your youth, then maybe you should know that the show was on June 3, 1977.
