New Bruce Springsteen Video, Timbaland Hopes for Showdown With Dr. Dre, Amy Winehouse Announces DVD

9/27/07, 2:14 pm EST

  • Bruce Springsteen’s “Long Walk Home,” the second video from his forthcoming Magic, finds a morose Springsteen singing alone in an empty studio, an empty warehouse and an empty diner. Various characters display the anguish of isolation in typical Middle America widescreen scenery. But then the drums kick in, the amusement park comes alive, Bruce cracks a smile, and everything’s going to be okay.
  • Inspired by the record-selling, RS cover-producing success that was the Kanye Vs. 50 showdown, Timbaland says he wants to challenge Dr. Dre’s Detox in a similar battle royale. Tim also asked his friend Jay-Z, who he’s currently working with, who he would battle on the undercard, with Jigga admitting he’d like to spar with Eminem.
  • Donda West, Kanye’s mom, told the Baltimore Sun that she considers her son to be of similar ilk as Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, Barack Obama and Jesus Christ. And you wondered how his ego became so inflated?
  • Amy Winehouse will release a new DVD, aptly titled I Told You I Was Trouble, on November 5th. The disc will be split between a seventeen-song performance from a Shepherd’s Bush Empire gig this April and a fifty-minute documentary.
  • This is a pre-announcement announcement: Tool is reportedly planning a tour of the U.S. West Coast in November and December, but exact dates and locations have not yet been revealed.

I am really liking the new Springsteen tracks so far. I can even get over the modern production style (took me a while with The Rising)

I think this is gonna be a car stereo favorite
