The Phil Spector Trial: It’s A Mistrial

9/26/07, 5:03 pm EST

WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?
Round one in the Phil Spector murder trial is over. At roughly 2:30 PM EST today, the jury passed a note to Judge Fidler saying that they are still unable to come to a unanimous decision. A hearing was scheduled for 4:30pm EST, giving both Phil Spector and the family of Lana Clarkson adequate time to come to the courthouse. Once there, Juror Ten, the jury foreman, informed the judge that the jury could not come to a verdict. After six cast ballots, the final split was 10-2 (post-show speculation has the ten being for conviction). Judge Fidler then polled each individual juror to see whether or not any of them felt a unanimous decision was at all possible. Each and every juror responded, “No, your honor.” After hearing that, the judge declared a mistrial, and the jury was dismissed. It’s on the prosecution now to decide what the next steps are.

IS THIS GOOD OR BAD FOR SPECTOR?
Phil Spector will likely have a huge celebratory bash for his defense team tonight.

You’ve made it all too complicated…Hes a punk who shot a woman to death. Forget his music, forget his money, forget it all…hes a punk who shot to woman to death. If we over discuss and over analyze we validate his belief that his rules are different, and we’ll be the ones who be creating the alternate rules!Again and again, hes a punk who shot a woman to daeth.

Phil is innocent. I was at his celebratory party. He tried to shoot everyone in the room and missed us all.

This guy pursuaded his 14 year-old son to fuck some blindfolded whore AND HE WATCHED. Way to go, Spector supporters! At least now I know who to stay the hell away from, you sick fucks. Murdering pedophiles with a lust for incest generally do not make good company. Ask that dumbass Lana.

Phils’”Wall of sound”will eventually come tumbling down.

Umm LIZZY, it ain’t over yet.
Phil didn’t “walk” permently away from killing Lana.
It was a “mistrial”
I.E. no verdict either way was dteremined therefore if the prosecution chooses {and they do} to have a re-trial Spector wil have to go through this all over again.
In the eyes of the WORLD, COURT he wasn’t found not guilty.
Granted he wasn’t found guilty either, but a jury of {10} guilty {2} not guilty shows that he came VERY close to being sentenced as guilty as charged.
On a happy note Phil will be drained of more money, have more stress on his 67 yr. old self and hopefully drop very soon.

You know, if he ever writes an autobiography on this trial, it would be called:

“If I Did It…Yeah…I Totally Did It.”

He might team up with O.J. on this one.

“Possible outcomes:
1) He goes to jail the rest of his life and taxpayers lose about 200 to 300 grand feeding him and paying his jailers.”

Well I say roll the dice and put him in jail. He’s 67, between him getting up there in age,the stress etc he could drop dead rather quickly in jail.Plus he’s “punk” if he actually wound up in a Fedeearl prision in general pop. He wouldn’t last that long.
Wimps like him aren’t so big without a gun. So it wouldn’t cost all that much.Is it better for him to be free when it was 10-2.
The 10 favoring him being guilty that he gives the Clarkson family,Lana, and basically all of us who think he’s guilty a big F@#$ You?

P.S.-I know you’re just playing devil’s advocate,respect your thoughts.

Herman Ze German | 9/26/2007, 9:14 pm EST

“does it matter?
Possible outcomes”

I’m partial to this, I just read it in the newspaper:
Option 3
“The legendary record producer is now likely to have to go through the whole circus again, as the Los Angeles district attorney announced his intention to stage a second trial.”

New trial for the wanker, new jury more legal fees for Spector, more stress {he’s 67} hopefully he’ll drop dead from it.
BLEED him every way possible.

“does it matter? | 9/26/2007, 6:23 pm EST

Possible outcomes:
1) He goes to jail the rest of his life and taxpayers lose about 200 to 300 grand feeding him and paying his jailers.
2) He goes free and doesn’t dare kill anyone again for fear of how easily he would be convicted if involved in a second murder. He pays taxes and spends money and sells a biography that benefits a lot of people in the book industry.

Maybe even if he is guilty, it would be more beneficial to let him go. It all depends on the expected outcome.”" GENIOUS!

If you’re gonna kill somebody, California’s the place to do it.

Nathan | 9/26/2007, 7:50 pm EST

The California justice system strikes again. That state couldn’t convict Adolf Hitler.
