Eagles Announce CMAs Performance, Sarah Silverman Regrets Britney Spears Joke, Nikki Sixx Says the Crue Can Live Without Tommy Lee

9/26/07, 9:37 am EST

  • The Eagles will play what’s being touted as their first awards show performance on November’s Country Music Association Awards (their forthcoming Long Road Out of Eden hits stores October 30th). Though Don Henley performed with Trisha Yearwood in 1993 and the Eagles won the CMA prize for album of the year in 1994, the band hasn’t played together on the show before.
  • Clear Channel Communications, Inc. has reached an agreement to sell the nation’s largest radio broadcasting company to a combination of equity firms for $19.5 billion, CMJ reports. The agreement comes almost a year after negotiations began, and Clear Channel also indicated it will sell off all of its television stations and 448 of its smaller radio stations.
  • Swedish BitTorrent site The Pirate Bay has filed charges against the Swedish branches of several major labels, including Sony and Universal, claiming the labels used illegal tactics such as paying professional hackers in an attempt to shut it down.
    • During an appearance on the Howard Stern Show yesterday, Nikki Sixx spoke on Tommy Lee’s recent departure from Mötley Crüe, insisting that since Kid Rock’s slap-fest partner isn’t the band’s singer or songwriter, the Crüe should be fine without him. Sixx added that he harbors no ill will toward Lee.

Sarah has said a lot worse, all in the name of comedy, and much worse has been said about Britney.

Im suprised that anyone would take a (knowingly foul-mouthed, and yet funny) comedian’s comment so seriously. We all like lampooning, but we have to understand the fine line between funny and offensive.

aarrgghh,,,stop already with the has-been reunion fest,,,,i’m reliving my childhood, and it was’nt very fun the first time around! I used to enjoy theses older bands, and still do, but come on,,,,,

That’s right Nikki. if he wants to leave let him. Call that guy from starbucks that filled in on the one date on the Canadian tour. Let someone live the dream!!
CRUEHEAD FOREVER!!

Nikki, all that heroin has finally eroded your brain. Do you remember the Crue without Tommy before, when it was Randy Castillo (R.I.P.) and Sam Maloney on drums? Neither does anyone else. Tommy is a vital part of that band. The Crue without Tommy was a shell of what it should have been. His personality is a big part of what makes the Crue what it is. Do you think as many people would have come out to see y’all this last go around if Tommy wasn’t there? I wouldn’t have, and neither will a lot of other people, guaranteed.

This is for eagles schmeagles: If you don’t reading or hearing about the reunions then don’t I for one saw the Eagles on my birthday a year & a half ago & I have seen many, many bands. That was one of the most perfectly performed concerts I have ever seen so as long as these bands keep coming around I will keep enjoying them before they are gone. Think about that.

This is for LA Dave, think about this, “eat shit”!! If you don’t like reading my post then dont! If you do read it, then pay attention, jackass! Read it again and you will find that i LIKE these reunion bands,,,,,,,but it’s kinda like your favorite food, you may like it, but do you want to have the SAME meal again and again, year after year, never trying anything new,,,,,,kinda boring. This kind of concert might be for you. Go to it. Enjoy it. Knock yourself out. It’s not for me, and I will continue to voice that oppinion.

Maybe, what Sarah Silverman was a bit a offensive. But I mean, the way Britney acts is pretty offensive as well. I think Sarah Silverman is hilarious and a breath of fresh air in comedy. Not many people are brave enough to say what she says, and all she is doing is being honest.

Britney is more offensive then anything any comedian has ever said, ever. She’s the most annoying celebrity in the world and I have no idea why anybody is interested in her at all. She’s not even that good-looking.

Britney, GO AWAY, live a quiet life with your millions and spare us your hack ‘music’.

Tommy Lee is a dumb ass, his career sure took off after he left the Crue.. Tommy goes to College, and his GREAT solo records Methods of Mayhem and its follow up. Those albums sold so well that his label dropped him like a ton of bricks. I think all that ink on hsi body has finally gone to his head!!!

Long Live The Crue.

Ducati | 4/10/2009, 12:14 am EST

Yes, the Crue without Tommy is a shadow of its former self. However without Nikki Sixx, it wouldnt exist at all.

Nikki Sixx – you survived the weirdness. God Bless Ya.
Keep on pumpin’.
