Emo is the “current” subculture that recently hit mainstream; thanks to Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Hawthorne Heights and many more bands. It’s garnered much criticism due to its seemingly pointless aesthetics, such as, strips of hair covering the face, flamboyant and tight clothing, etc. The national consensus of this style can best be summarized as ‘goth meets gay’, or ‘faux-punk’…
