It’s going to be difficult for Britney Spears to focus on the comeback that fans (and the sagging-sales-plagued music industry) are hoping for if she continues to be embroiled in … well, her life. US Weekly has the full report on the star’s ex-bodyguard’s appearance on this morning’s Today show, where security pro Tony Barretto claimed he was speaking out because “I just wanted to make sure that the public and the court and her fans know the truth.” This “truth,” Barretto says, is that Spears used drugs and drank alcohol, but not in front of her children, as far as he knows. “It was almost forbidden to talk to her about her personal life,” he said. “Britney doesn’t listen to nobody, that’s apparent.” Well, not her former lawyer or manager, evidently. As a reminder, Spears’ new album comes out November 13th.
