Jack White Takes Bob Dylan Further Into Uncharted Territory

9/21/07, 11:18 am EST

What special hold does Jack White have over Bob Dylan? The other night the White Stripes frontman got Dylan to play his Blood on the Tracks gem “Meet Me In The Morning” for the first time ever live, at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. And last night, White joined Dylan onstage for the big man’s first ever live performance of “Outlaw Blues,” from Bringing it All Back Home; White also got Dylan to play “One More Cup of Coffee” (one our personal faves, from Desire) for the first time since 1993. Hoping for a White spotting at an upcoming Dylan gig? The list of Dylan’s remaining fall tour dates can be found after the jump:

I was floored when Bob and Jack did “one more cup of coffee” at the Ryman Sept 20, 2007. It was the most awesome performance I’ve ever seen. I’ve always been a Dylan fan and now I know I will get hooked on Jack White as well.

I am in mourning because of the cancelled tour but it’s so good to see Jack doing something ultra cool- there are no words to describe Bob…my mother told me that…I tell my kids the same about Mr. White and I knoe they’re not listening to me now but someday they will….

Pass the torch and “accidentally” burn him to a fucking crisp.

There should be a ceremony held by jimmy page and bob dylan where they literally pass a torch to jack white.
If it wasn’t for him i would have lost complete hope in modern rock.

Get Well soon Meg we miss the Stripes!

Hell, if The White Stripes had to cancel their tour, Jack might as well tour with him; he’s already got 3 guitarists, would it hurt to have one more?

yes, yes, yes! Please Jack–make some more surprise concert appearances–you and Bob are great together! Dylan is coming to Ohio later on in the fall(hint, hint).
