Van Halen Add Tour Dates, Gene Simmons Offers Preview of Science Fiction Novel, Avenged Sevenfold Announce Tour

  • Van Halen have announced additional California dates for their reunion tour, which will now take them to Fresno on November 29th, Anaheim on December 18th and Oakland on December 22nd. The band has been rehearsing in Los Angeles for the tour, which kicks off next week in Charlotte, NC.
  • At a meeting yesterday, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino revealed that the concert promoter has “found some options” that may allow them to enter the ticket-selling business, Variety reports. Though Live Nation and Ticketmaster have been partners in the past, talks to renew a deal are presumed dead.
  • KISS frontman Gene Simmons’s debut science fiction novel, Zipper, comes out in November. The book follows a soldier from another planet as he discovers his forbidden ability to be an individual. A six-page preview of the book is currently available for download on Simmons’ official site.
  • Avenged Sevenfold will head out on tour October 29th in support of their self-titled fourth album, which arrives in stores October 30th. Tour dates after the jump.

A7X was also supposed to play the House of Blues in Orlando on November 23rd, but Disney forced them to cancel (Orlando HOB is on Disney property) just like they did w/ Machine Head

I’m Here in ATL and I can’t wait to see Halen. I got tix to Charlotte and Greensboro. I am so stoked Van Halen 2times in 3 nights. It’s been a long time since I rocked and rolled in Feb 1984.
