On Wednesday, sales figures for the week of the Kanye West/50 Cent Graduation/Curtis showdown in the U.S. will be available, but West has already won the duo’s U.K. chart duel. Reports indicate West has grabbed the number one spot on the U.K. charts and projections predict Kanye will move as many as 700,000 copies of Graduation in the States, while 50 Cent’s Curtis is expected to sell a still impressive estimated 500,000 copies. So is Fifty ready to quit releasing solo albums as promised? No official word yet, but the rapper did cancel his U.K. and European promotional trip after hearing the news, MTV reports. The excuse? “Last minute, unforeseen and unanticipated change in his schedule.” West was in good humor last night when he joined The Office’s Rainn Wilson onstage at the “Dick in a Box”-free Emmys for a round of Don’t Forget the Lyrics! hosted by Wayne Brady, who joked, “Whoever loses this competition will retire from show business.” And West only complained a little bit when Wilson prevailed: “I never win.” After the show, West made a surprise appearance at the TV Guide bash, hopping onstage with John Legend to perform tracks including “Gold Digger.”
