Prince has always been ahead of the curve and what he said was always respected by the fans when what he was doing was taking on the established music industry. Now, after years of bootlegging etc, he’s making his point to the fans and you guys are reacting like children. Take a moment to give him a bit of respect..
He’s not a little rich kid.. he’s a musician who works for his money .. And more importantly he’s an artist who is always expressing himself honestly.. He’s not a fashion follower.. and now think about how valuable that is to the music culture.

Any intelligent artist would view the majority of unauthorized internet-based media (like YouTube) as essentially free publicity. It’s not going to stop the true fans from buying authorized, legal copies of his albums. What it does do is it keeps his name in rotation – if it weren’t for the internet and unauthorized uses of his work, I wouldn’t have heard of prince since “purple rain.” damn, even free, i don’t want to listen to his music.

Well I agree that to a certain point prince has a right to be upset about the bootlegging However, he has to realize that alot of people have forgotten him and how long has it been since he came out with anything that has topped the charts.When I think of Prince I think about the 80’s and if he doesn’t like the free publicity then well it will be only his committed fans that will remember him. I didnt’ respect prince when he tried to get out of his recording contract. I didn’t respect him when he deliberatly put out shit music to fulfill his contract. I didn’t respect prince when he didn’t care that his fans were getting shit music at top price for his CD’S. In the eighties 20$ for a CD was ridiculously expensive and fans paid that amount expecting top notch music. I don’t respect him now. His “legendary and genuis” is tapped out. If he wants to keep living off his previous successes he is shooting himself in the foot, exactly how he has in the past.

Prince! We want to bootleg you, we want to see you on youtube, we want to download you music and old and new conserts for free. But we also want to buy it, we who like you and are ure fans.
