Tommy Lee Quits Motley Crue, Foxy Brown Flip-Flops on Pregnancy, More

9/13/07, 9:31 am EST

  • Less than a week after his run-in with Kid Rock at the VMAs, Tommy Lee announced that he is quitting Mötley Crüe. The remaining bandmembers are suing the band’s former manager for lost revenues; they claim that the manager convinced Lee to pursue reality TV shows and rather than tour with the band.
  • Billy Joel will play a series of concerts at Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets, before it is demolished in late 2008. Joel’s performances will serve as the closing bookend for Shea’s concert run, which began with the Beatles’ famous performance there in 1965.
  • The Noisettes have joined the White Stripes, the Gossip, and Kaiser Chiefs as the latest band to cancel their U.S. tour. The Noisettes insist they need to “take a break” after touring for the last two years, and are trying to reschedule the cancelled dates for early 2008.

So does that mean the remainder of Motley Crue will get a TV show to find a new drummer?

Good bye Tommy! This is the second time you’ve quit. You have everything because of Motley Crue if you can’t respect that and the fans then F-off!! Someone call Samantha Malony!!!

Tommy Lee quit? Who even knew that Motley Crue was still playing together? Who gives a shit about Motley Crue these days anyway.

With the notatable exception of the Too Fast For Love LP, this band has always been god awful. Remember they’re the ones who inspired such important bands like Poison!

scissor me timbers | 9/13/2007, 5:31 pm EST

these bands cancelling dates is bullshit. we’re tired, so fucking what? you planned all these dates and if you’re eyes were too big for your stomach, tough. people have paid good money, taken off work, whatever to go see you play and you just bail on them. i hope you never sell another record.

Don’t you dare leave Tommy!! To some crue heads out there, you guys changed lives, you did mine a some of my mates! We were just bone heads who you inspired to start a band and years on we’ve been fortunate enough to play on the same stage as the mighty Iron Maiden and supported Tyketto, we played the music because we had a good time and the fact that others did was a bonus!! don’t through all that away over this!! there are more important things in life!!

Crue fans are the best, so F!*k the rest!!

Tommy – those guys were your friends.
